OK, how sickening is this movie. God Bless America! Aren't they great? They've saved the world singelhandedly again! JUst when you thought it was safe to go back into the movie theatre after Independence ay had us reaching for the sick bag, along comes Armaggedon to surpass it with flying colours. ...Guess what happens? Correct! Why do we keep watching this ****. Surely special effects are not enough to fill a movie thetre any more? Obviously they are which is a shame because we'll keep being treated to this sort of pap until we decide to boycott them in favour of something watchable. Oh and Aerosmith...time to retire lads if you are going to keep coming up with songs like that... ...

This is one of the best disaster movies for a long while. It stars Bruce Willis and Liv Tyler and a brilliant supporting cast. Having seen Armageddon at the cinema I was eager to snap up the DVD as soon as it became available. The problem that arose was that the film was released on a 'flipper' disc, requiring the dvd to be flipped over half way through the film, interrupting the flow of the story. After massive public pressure the dvd was released on a dual-layered disc a few months later, so be careful to check the back of the box whe buying. In my opinion Armageddon ...
...DVD is undoubtedly the format Armageddon was made for. The picture quality is excellent and with a 5.1 speaker setup the sound *will* make the house shake. Unfortunately, this is all you get. There are no extras of any kind, not even the excellent theatrical trailer. The Criterion edition, only available in America, has more extras than you could shake a stick at, including blooper reels, commentaries, documentaries, music videos, interviews etc. ...

This movie is one of the best to watch if you are looking for excitement, good story line action and also for the girls a bit of a weepie at the end. The story line goes that they find out that there is a comet on a collision course with earth and that they need to stop it and the person that they choose is Bruce Willis character who is used to dealing with natural disasters, on getting him he then chooses a team of his best men he can find and ...

After seeing this film at the cinema, and then on video, it was one of the first dvds that i bought, and i got a bit pissed off that it was two sided and had to be turned half way, then more pissed off that it was released as a single sided disc, and then furious when woolies would not exchange the disc as it was not faulty, thankfully the studios seem to have learnt there lesson now and I sold my disc to a pal so no matter, this is one superb action ...

this film is where i first fell inlove with Ben Aflick running around an oil rig in his boxers. MAN i would of given anything to have been there. The story starts off with a load of men working on an oil rig and they struck oil and bruce willis finds out that his daughter is having a realtioship with one of the men. they all end up going off into the sunset when bruce is called in to save the world. he has to go to nasa to fix a drill he made years ...

...about, fun and thrills. And Armageddon delivers in both areas. The plot couldn't be simpler: Texas size asteroid heads towards earth. If it hits, we all die a horrible death. So it's up to a group of mis-fits and half-its to save the earth as usual.
