this type of film is not really what i usually watch i when i do usually i enjoy thme. this was not the case of this waste of time. i suggest to bruce willis that he find another charatcer apart from the one he uses in almost all his films. the lines he delivers just make me cringe with embrassement for everyone really. the other acotrs really cant ehlp it bu he should have known better. the effcts are great bu the story a bit unrealistic really. ...

I watched this film on video because it was one of the new releases at the time. I thought this was a brilliant film, the special effects were great when the smaller comets hit earth. It was a very exciting and gripping movie.

Armageddon stars Bruce Willis as Harry, Liv Tyler as his daughter Grace and Ben Affleck as AJ. Basically Harry owns an oilrig where Ben works among others. You may think this would suffer being released so close to Deep Impact, this is not the case, this is really what Deep Impact should have been. I first saw this film in the cinema and couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD and I bought it on it's first day of release. A lot of movie critics who saw an advanced preview of this film totally rubbished it and they all came out of the preview laughing and saying it was far fetched rubbish. What can I say, this film is definately my favourite of all time. The film is about an asteriod that is about to hit the earth. The plan was that Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck go up into space in two teams, to drill a hole in the asteriod, drop a nuclear warhead and then leave. To come back to earth, to blow up the asteriod before it hits the zero barrier. That all goes wrong when Bens space shuttle crashes on the asteriod. Don't worry, Bens alright, ... ...team before they leave. The other team on the other hand, are having a few problems of their own. Two of their drill heads break and they loose some of their men. Anyway, after all of the drama on the asteriod they return home to find that they blew it up at just the right time and that everything is going to be alright. NASA formed a plan to drill a hole through the asteroid and plant a bomb to destory ... ...Ben Affleck, Owen Wilson, and Steve Buscemi, among others) are called in by NASA to do the drilling. The unlikely heroes are sent into space in two teams: team 'Independance' and team 'Freedom'. Wow, this was a film that kept me on the edge of my seat right from the start.
A star studded cast, a brilliant story with a twist in the tail packed with great special effects
I have not always been a fan of Bruce Willis but this was the film that changed all that! He was great. As usual Bruce is the hero yet with a daughter in tow he also has a sensitive side to him.
The world is in danger should this massive meteor hit earth and Nasa require ... ...bombs. They seek out the best in the world. These are a great bunch of characters that you begin to bond with,you cannot believe that these oil rig workers will actually make it into space! The whole space journey, meteor, and gasses is a credit to the special effects team. Watch the extras in this movie and see just how they did it!
As I said there is a twist in the tail and I do not want to spoil the ending. What I will say is it brought an unexpected ...
