Disadvantages: The Action scenes seemed a little long for me

Armageddon is an old film- first released in 1998, starring many blockbuster actors including of course Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck and Billy Bob Thornton. He has directed some of my all time favourites including; Bad Boys (1 & 2), The Rock, and Transformers to name just a small few. ...the end of the 90's Armageddon has acheived a reputation as being the effort with more action but less brain. And boy is that the truth. The story could work and indeed the action side of things could instantly appeal in that no-brainer-after-the-pub kind of way. Advantages: Great cast and ideas, and the character depth adds a lot to the film
Disadvantages: Hardly original at times

Armageddon is one of my favourite recent films. I have seen it both in the cinema and on DVD (the special US release) and I am always amazed by its quality. Following a report on Ciao by Dr. Pepper, I went in search of this film. I was looking for a decent film and others I knew had said it was a good movie, so up I stepped to see for myself. **This opinion gives away quite a lot of the plot** Armageddon is much like Deep Impact (which I have also written an opinion on, but I’ll stop selling myself now!!). Why is it that all films are planned out for a happy ending?? Why do the good guys always win in the end, despite endless problems they seem to encounter throughout, they always come out on top. Armageddon, despite a small hitch at the very end, displays this very well. The Plot is simple. Advantages: Entertaining and this film has a lot of good actors
Disadvantages: none that I picked up on (I'm not that picky)

I am a great fan of action movies. It is one of my favourite kinds. This one caught my attention straight away with the intresting title and the amount of great actors in this film. Not surprisingly, I was hooked in a few minutes. The movie starts off with a little history lesson about the earth. Advantages: Fantastic action movie.
Disadvantages: A bit American bias.

This is one very brilliant action movie. A rogue asteroid is on its way to hit the Earth and destroy all life on the planet (even the bacteria!) The best brains in the entire world are put to work on how to save the planet. Well, this is very much an American film so all the best brains are of course concentrated at NASA in the USA.
