...Crystal, to help him. Analyze This is frequently funny, especially for fans of the serious side of the genre, and DeNiro’s acting is, as ever, very good – although his crying is rather unrealistic, but this was probably deliberate so as to boost the comedy. The rest of the cast is also good, Billy Crystal doing a good job of unwilling employee of the mob and Lisa Kudrow as his fiancé. The film also contains a bit of action and tension, but the main ...

Eh you respect me and respect my family. This film shows the funny side of the mafia. It revolves around one of the New York mafia families. The leader of the family played by Robert De Niro finds he has trouble with things in life. He is having panic attacks and is under a lot of stress after his best friend, the main leader of the New York mafia is brutally murdered. He goes to consult a psychiatrist on the matter who is played by none other than ...

This film is very funny it stars Robert de niro as a new york boss(Paul Vitti) in one of the city's very powerful gangster groups.Robert de niro is excellent in his acting role as the part unfolds with him needing help from a psychiatrist.
Rober de niro is ok whilst he has been brought up amongst the mob after his own father had been shot whilst he was a youngster but as he gets to the age when he is to take over as a leader he panics.
There just ... ...at the time is leading a rather dull type of practise, he is divorced with a young son and is about to get married again.
There is a sort of minor accident and it brings sobol to the attention of vitti.Vitti then thinks that sobol can help him alot and is his way out so to speak. Sobol finds himself taking on the case but the relationship between the two is not quite what is expected. It is chaos, very funny.
I mean what advice does he give to ...

Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot
Here is a film that settles for a few good laughs. Instead of using its comedic touches to lighten up some truly darker themes, "Analyze This" plays it safe and silly. Dealing with two of our culture’s most problematic realities…organized crime and the pervasive need for "therapy," the film sidesteps these manifestations of our sick society in the name of some admittedly good ... ...so what!"
There are a few incisive, truly revealing scenes that keep this movie in the ballpark…scenes that combine comedy with commentary. Billy Crystal is a riot when he fantasizes about lashing into one of his hysterical, self-flagellating clients, screaming at the wretched wench to go "get a life" and "shut the fug up!" His impersonation of the archetypal mugster is so 'on the money' that any thug who sees it has got to pause and take stock. ...

Advantages: Laugh out Loud comedy Disadvantages: Lisa Krudow part not cast well
This is a film made in 1999 by Warner Bros. the director is Harold ramis from a screenplay by Peter Tolan, Ken Lonnergan and Harold Ramis. The film is set in the US and is a part spoof mafia film and a spoof on therapists. Great film. If you like the way Billy Crystal delivers his humour, the way Robert DeNiro can switch from serious roles to comedy or just well scripted funny movies I recommend this movie to you. Robert DeNiro won oscars for 1974 ... ...actor Raging Bull. There is a good spoof Godfather scene in this movie. My two favourite scenes are the Consiglieri scene near the end in which Crystal tries to act like a mobster. Also the scene in the Miami hotel which mentions oedipus, Freud and Paul Vitti's mother. (I won't spoil it but the dialogue is fantastic)
If you want a movie that is full of funny dialogue and should not be taken too seriously then rent this movie and have a laugh at ...

Crystal is a slightly neurotic New York Jewish psychiatrist who works from home and treats very ordinary patients with strange yet boring problems. DeNiro is the head of a New York crime family. Lately he's been getting moody, nervous, panicky, and is generally losing it. He goes to Crystal for treatment, won't take 'no' for an answer, and keeps pestering Crystal throughout a very important, personal time for the shrink. The supporting characters ...

OK, this film is centred upon a phychiatrist (Billy Crystal) and a Mafia Boss (Robert DeNiro). DeNiro is having a kinda midlife crisis and therefore seeks the help of a renowned phychiatrist, who is less than willing to say the least. Crystal tries his hardest to tell De
Niro that he doesn't exactly want to be his therapist. But, hey, who is gonna tell a mafia boss something he doesn't wanna know?
Billy Crystal's performance is actually quite good ... ...like good 'ol DeNiro in this flick. DeNiro and commedy just doesn't mix, well, not in this film anyway. You'll see what I mean when you watch him tryin' to cry. Stick to what you do best Robbie!
Anyway, want light-hearted film to watch? You can do a lot worse than this. ...

Analyze this, rated 15 is about a gangster who feels the need to talk to a shrink, staring Robert De niro and Billy Crystal, this film is about a mobster, who cannot live with the fact of what he has done. the shrink played by billy Crystal, is ordered to help vitti,s (robert De niro) of the anxiety that he is suffering, now the shrink meets up with his future wife and is about to wed her when vittis,s right hand man, takes the shrink (thats sobel) ... ...antics of the gangsters he has no choice but to help.
the film reminds me a little about heat with the rols as de niro in yet another gangster fim with a twist of comedy, all around the role doesnt suit de niro but then again im used to his hard man scenes
the film lasts 99 mins and may contain scenes of sex and violence ...

The answer to that question is most certainly YES."Analyze This" is wickedly funny and it is wickedly intelligent. Without slapstick, the film works purely on an intellectual level, toying with clichés and familiar stereotypes to create its may funny moments. The two lead actors interact brilliantly to create a funny duo - the strict and neurotic DeNiro and the scared yet brilliant Crystal. Lisa Kudrow makes an interesting addition to the cast and ...

Robert DeNiro is not a comedian. He used this to his advantage in what is arguably his best performance, as The King of Comedy's Rupert Pupkin. In Scorsese's 1982 media-age satire, which becomes more relevant with each passing year, Pupkin is a struggling comedian obsessed with talk show host Jerry Langford (a self-parodying Jerry Lewis) and the thought of appearing on his program. Pupkin’s routines, however, are painfully unfunny—and he is blithely ...

"Analyze This" is not just a title but an invitation--it does indeed deserve some analysis. But none of our hard-earned money.
It starts out hilarious and believable, but half-way through it rapidly degrades into caricature and silliness, and just plain runs out of gas. Even DeNiro sounds off his feed; I didn't buy those crying jags for even a second. Other than Lisa Kudrow the only consistent brightness is the juvenile-jolly wit of Kyle Sabihy ... ...(or rollicking anything) between future step-mom and step-son is frittered away, alas. And Billy Crystal? Well, he does with it the best he can, no flies on him.
Which is all just too bad. "Analyze This" has a terrific premise (a mobster who muscles up some therapy) and an acerbic, under-used and achingly luscious Kudrow, who not once sports anything briefer than skirt-and-blouse--oh, come on! Some of this takes place in Bal Harbour, so stuff that ...

Analyze This is a mob comedy with a difference. This film stars Robert De Niro as a mob boss in need of therapy and Billy Crystal as his unwilling shrink. The laughs come thick and fast as De NIro parodies the gangster roles which made him famous and Billy Crystal is always funny in my opinon!

I saw this being a fan of mobster movies and Robert De Nero in particular. It's an above average comedy staring the aforementioned DeNero and Billy crystal (who doesn't annoy me in this as he does in City Slickers) There are gags a plenty and a lot of references to well known gangster films but you can't help feeling that the idea of a gangster seeing a pyschiarist is not worth padding out into a feature film. Lisa Kudrow is my major gripe with this ...

Analyse this, what a scream. I’ve always been a fan of De Niro and when I first saw the trailers for this film I thought it was a must see movie.
Robert De Niro, plays Gangster Boss Paul Viti, who has got psychological problems, the very idea that De Niro could play such a character after his roles in Goodfellas, Casino etc was to say the least inviting. Anyway he goes to see a shrink who is played brilliantly by Billy Crystal, who becomes ... ...The film moves from one hilarious episode to the next, handled brilliantly by, in my opinion, the very talented actor/director Harold Ramis. The plot is neither mind bending nor thought provoking, but then it’s not supposed to be, it’s just a fun movie that rewards the viewer with a damn good time for taking the trouble to sit and watch.
Analyse this – A funny and deeply enjoyable movie.

A shrink meets a Mafia boss who needs his help, but does not admit to it. Billy Crystal is the psychologist who reluctantly begins treating De Niro. Their relationship is hilarious and full of twists. Since they are stuck together, Crystal has to get on with De Niro and he also gets insight ... ...is quite hard to explain this film, but it is well worth seeing and all actors and the director do a good job. What I really liked was the fact that Robert De Niro makes fun of himself in the film and does not play the all serious roles we are used to seeing him in. It is not the best movie you will ever see, but it has good laughs and is nice just to kill some time. ...
