Advantages: De Niro and Crystal still work well together on screen Disadvantages: Lisa Kudrow really needs to break away from the Pheobe role
...interact on screen really makes the film a lot better than perhaps the script would allow. That said Ramis knows how to make a decent comedy film and that alone should be a reason to see it. If you liked Analyze This its almost a certainty you’ll like this one. ...

...where it left of in analyze this.
as the film starts, it is based in a strip club with 2 men arguing, one of them ends up getting shot, then it ends. it is actually a tv programme that the inmates are watching at the prison, its a well thought of beginning.
the next good scene is where dr ben soble is at his dads funeral, he gets called up to say his piece. he starts cursing his dad, saying loads of bad things about him. it turns out to be a dream ... ...year.
if you've seen analyze this- that does'nt even compare to this sequel!!
this really is a funny film. once again the actors have performed another excellant film, and i think that if different actors had played the characters in this film, it wouldn't have been half as funny. the actors have made the parts there own....hilarious
this really is a must see movie. ...

Advantages: robert de niro going crazy Disadvantages: bit confusing, not as funny as you'd expect
Before Analyze This i didn't think of Robert de Niro as a comedy actor, and after watching that and the sequel i still don't! I think he is one of the best actors around, and maybe comedy woulld suit him if he were in a better movie! After all he wasn't all that bad in Meet the Parents!
Billy Crystal has his moments, to me he seems to be more of an acquired taste, a taste not acquired by me!
Lisa Kudrow, is a waste of screen space in this movie!
... ...keep you watching though!
Analyze That, however, was a waste of time! The only two memorable parts of the movie were when Robert de Niro was in prison and faked madness, singing songs from Westside Story, and prancing about like a fairy elephant, and Billy Crystals fathers funeral, with him fantasizing about going up and delivering a very honest eulogy!!
I found the rest of the movie rather boring, and at times a bit confusing! Maybe I missed a ...

...sequel to their 1999 hit Analyze This. De Niro is again Mafia boss Paul Vitti, who is now in prison at Sing-Sing. He’s having a hard time staying alive, as somebody keeps sending hit men to kill him.
This brings on the anxiety attacks he suffered from previously, and these manifest themselves by him bursting into songs from the musical ‘West Side Story’, or else going into a totally catatonic state.
So the authorities send for his former psychiatrist ... ...him.
Sobel really doesn’t want the job, and is even less pleased when the Justice Department insists in releasing Vitti into his care, and having him move into his own home. Sobel’s long suffering wife (Lisa Krudow) is less than happy, especially as they now have a teenage son, and because Vitti insists on bringing along his monstrous bodyguard, ‘Jelly’ to live with him.
Sobel tries to fix him up with a legitimate job, but there aren’t too many ...

...it's a follow up to ANALYZE THIS. Paul Vitti (De Niro) was locked up in Sing Sing prison where he had problems with someone attempting to kill him. So he fakes a breakdown by singing songs from the well known musical West Side Story. His shrink Dr. Ben Sobel (Cyrstal) sees him and is then given Paul in custody for a month.
Naturally Paul was faking and as soon as he's out he wants to get back to the good life. But Ben puts a stop to it and Paul ... ...disasterous effects (the one in the jewelers shop is my favorite) until he settles with one as a person training the bad guy on "Little Caesar" (a tv programme.)
Well Vitti then is planning a 'job' he's gonna swipe some gold, he gets away with it but there is a funny twist. Naturally good guy Sobel gets caught up in this through trying to get him to go straight.
What I haven't told you is about his rival - Louis the Wrench (so named because he ...
