...Oscar Wilde play, this is an enjoyable film with many clever twists and witty one liners. The beginning of the movie starts off shakily with the director so keen to remove any airs of staginess from the proceedings that we are bombarded with quick scene changes all over London for no reason what so ever. ...gentle through the life of an up and coming politician Sir Robert Chiltern, his wife, sister and best friend (Lord Goring). There are dark moments when Sir Robert has to choose his country or himself but all is resolved in the end. What truly makes this special is the language used, the sarcasm flows like honey and the one-upmanship is only thinly disguised. ...
