The American Pie guys are back in American Pie 2. After their first year at college Jim, Kevin, Oz, Finch and the guy we love to hate Stiffler are back. All 5 of them get together again for a summer full of fun and partying for six weeks because college has finished. Anyway the guys always end up partying at Stiffler's house, and the same goes this summer. That is until the cop's come and put a stop to the partying, so the guys are left with nowhere ... ...to blows in the first American pie movie because Stiffler caught Finch and his Mom Janine at it on the pool table.
In order to earn some extra cash whilst they are at the lake house the guys get a job painting the exterior of houses. I loved American pie and when I found out there was a sequel in the works I had to see it. I guess the comedy style of the first movie was really good and different to all the other teen movies coming out at the time. I don’t know but the thought of a guy trying to get it on with a pie really intrigued me! Then when I heard pie has been replaced with crazy glue I was even more intrigued. The first movie was a huge hit and I think it was obvious that ... ...on at the end of American pie and ever since then he has been absolutely obsessed with her. He has been waiting for her return and not to mention preparing. This has caused a lot of friction between him and Stifler and he basically does get taken the p*ss out of by him.

Advantages: All the cast are back | Jims Dad Disadvantages: Not much has changed | Some poor jokes
American Pie was one of the biggest hits of 1999, made on a small budget of $10 it went on to break the $100m barrier in its home country and raked in a healthy £13m here in the UK. So it was no surprise at all that a sequel was going to be made. And here it is. The cast is back ready for another slice of pie.
American Pie paved the way for a deluge of teen comedies to come out of the US. Many tried to copy its idea and try and build on it but many ... ...At the box office American Pie 2 came in with force. It spent 3 weeks at the top spot in the US and has so far grossed a massive £143m. It leaves you wondering what the fuss is all about and if anything can top that pie scene of the original.
After a year at college the guys are back. Jim (Jason Biggs), Oz (Chris Klein), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and, of course, Stifler (Seann Willaim Scott) are reunited. Also, a rarity ...

...to do a review of American Pie 2 as aterall, my last opinion was on it’s prequel the great American Pie (nooo, you don’t say!!). I must admit, I had mixed reactions when I found out it was due to be released in the cinema back in the summer of last year. Having loved the first one, I didn’t want anything to ruin it for me, especially a lame second attempt. Nothing is worse than a sequel that just doesn’t cut it for ruining ... ...is not what I got. American Pie 2 doesn’t make the first one better or worse, it just compliments it nicely. I found the sequel just as good as the first one, if not better in places. American Pie 2 was this time made with a bigger budget, but to be honest, doesn’t have that much to show for it apart from more exotic locations and more people taking a talking role. It was directed by James Rogers, who assisted on directing/producing the ...

Advantages: Entertaining all the way through Disadvantages: Can't watch with your mum
American Pie 2 is easily my favourite of all the series, released in 2001 I remember the day I got my mum to purchase it for me - being underage at the time - and then I promptly put it into my PS2 (my only DVD player at the time) to watch. The typical embarrassing scene opens up the film as Jim lays in bed with a beautiful young girl he's met at college. They're preparing to have ...

Wanna second slice of American Pie? Well you can have it although may I stress that there is NO PIE IN THIS FLIK!!! AHHHHHHHH!
I have to say that I am a massive fan of the original American Pie and I defo wasn't going to miss out on this one, so the second day it was on at my local cinema I hopped down and caught it and BOY WAS I IMPRESSED! Advantages: Hilariously funny, picks up where the original left off, and includes all the same characters Disadvantages: Rude and crude - may not appeal to some people, and you need to have seen the original to appreciate this one
...That is why films like American Pie appeal to me so much. Having thoroughly enjoyed the original, where four high school students make a pact to lose their virginity before leaving high school for good, I had eagerly awaited the sequel – and after going to see it last night I was not disappointed!

American Pie 2 picks up almost a year after the sequel finished. Jim (Jason Biggs) and his friends have completed their first year at college, and are just about to return home for the summer. Jim’s summer does not start off well, when a session of “friendly, goodbye sex” (which he nervously informs the ‘lucky lady’ is his first since his first time!) with one of his fellow students is rudely interrupted by Jim’s Dad ...

Advantages: Great slapstick comedy, plenty of teen angst and raging hormones Disadvantages: None that I could think of, it just made me laugh!
There is a well-known rule of thumb in the world of the silver screen, which states that sequels very rarely reach the standards set by their predecessors... but in the case of ‘American Pie 2’, I can safely say that if you liked the first one, then you will enjoy this just as much, if not more. The humour is the same, there is still an element of slapstick and cringing embarrassment, and best of all, ALL the characters have returned ... ...I do mean all of them – even the bit part players from the original film are there, including Kev’s older brother, Stifler’s obnoxious sibling, and the two ‘MILF’ dudes at the party. All the main characters make a second appearance too, and this makes it so much easier to get back into the film right from the start, as Jim is caught in a position even more compromising than the infamous apple pie moment!
So what’s ...

...asking too much. The original American Pie, as countless ops on it have said, was something very new, very different, and very funny: a teenage gross-out sex comedy that was genuinely witty. It worked brilliantly because the casting was inspired, the one-liners and quotable phrases were endless and hilarious, and the audience left the cinema in a rosy retrospective glow that was refreshingly free from sentimentality.
By default, like so many sequels ... ...what the majority are after. American Pie 2 has lost its originality but none of its wit and charm. It’s unashamedly a brilliant excuse to provide nearly two hours worth of set piece comedy revolving around the same characters in the same situations in a different setting. So if you’re after something ground-breaking, look elsewhere. If you’re still reading, you’ll be wanting to know why you should go and see it. If you liked the first, then you ...

The first 'American Pie' was a teen classic about 4 blokes who are determined to lose their virginity before the end of high school. It was original, yet easy to relate to.
