    The American Pie guys are back in American Pie 2. After their first year at college Jim, Kevin, Oz, Finch and the guy we love to hate Stiffler are back. All 5 of them get together again for a summer full of fun and partying for six weeks because college has finished. Anyway the guys always end up partying at Stiffler's house, and the same goes this summer. That is until the cop's come and put a stop to the partying, so the guys are left with nowhere to party and chill out.     I loved American pie and when I found out there was a sequel in the works I had to see it. I guess the comedy style of the first movie was really good and different to all the other teen movies coming out at the time. I don’t know but the thought of a guy trying to get it on with a pie really intrigued me! Then when I heard pie has been replaced with crazy glue I was even more intrigued. The first movie was a huge hit and I think it was obvious that this one would be too. I just knew it would be huge when I saw the poster for it!     American Pie was one of the biggest hits of 1999, made on a small budget of $10 it went on to break the $100m barrier in its home country and raked in a healthy £13m here in the UK. So it was no surprise at all that a sequel was going to be made. And here it is. The cast is back ready for another slice of pie.     It seems only fitting for me to do a review of American Pie 2 as aterall, my last opinion was on it’s prequel the great American Pie (nooo, you don’t say!!). I must admit, I had mixed reactions when I found out it was due to be released in the cinema back in the summer of last year. Having loved the first one, I didn’t want anything to ruin it for me, especially a lame second attempt. Nothing is worse than a sequel that just doesn’t cut it for ruining the first one for you.     So for my second op of the day I have decided to go with the third in the teen movie season American Pie 2, following on from my American Pie and Road Trip op. The sequel to the 1999 hit American Pie, AP 2 was released in 2001 and a third American Wedding is due out this year.     American Pie 2 is easily my favourite of all the series, released in 2001 I remember the day I got my mum to purchase it for me - being underage at the time - and then I promptly put it into my PS2 (my only DVD player at the time) to watch. The PS2 asked me to make a code for age restricted DVD's in the future, bloody child protection on everything these days, although in the rush I just put in any old numbers and that prevented me from ever being able to watch American Pie 2 again - as I couldn't remember the code.     Wanna second slice of American Pie? Well you can have it although may I stress that there is NO PIE IN THIS FLIK!!! AHHHHHHHH! I have to say that I am a massive fan of the original American Pie and I defo wasn't going to miss out on this one, so the second day it was on at my local cinema I hopped down and caught it and BOY WAS I IMPRESSED! I admit, I've now watched American Pie more than 3 times and I'm not joking, I love it and I'm sure I'm not on my own there!     Advantages Advantages Hilariously funny, picks up where the original left off, and includes all the same characters

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Rude and crude - may not appeal to some people, and you need to have seen the original to appreciate this one

    On the whole I consider myself to be fairly mature and well-adjusted. That is, until it comes to my sense of humour, which I have to admit can be just a tiny bit(!) childish at times. I am the sort of person who has always sniggered at accidental double entendres and giggled at people finding themselves in embarrassing situations! That is why films like American Pie appeal to me so much.     There is a well-known rule of thumb in the world of the silver screen, which states that sequels very rarely reach the standards set by their predecessors... but in the case of ‘American Pie 2’, I can safely say that if you liked the first one, then you will enjoy this just as much, if not more. The humour is the same, there is still an element of slapstick and cringing embarrassment, and best of all, ALL the characters have returned to play a part in the second film.
