Edward Norton gives an impassioned performance as Derek Vinyard, a Southern Californian skinhead who must do time after committing a hateful murder. Once in jail, his mind opens...
more...and he sees the error of his ways. Upon reentering the real world, he must now turn his attentions to his younger brother Danny, who is swiftly heading down the same path as his brother. Controversy surrounded the film when director Tony Kaye disowned it, claiming that Norton had the film re-edited without Kaye's permission. Norton still got an Oscar Nomination for his intense performance.

A film about racial hatred in America starring Edward Norton and Edward Furlong (kid from T2). I thoroughly enjoyed this film, it had (nearly) everything to make this a good film - excellent performances from the main cast, realism, and a good story. Advantages: A great film with a message that doesn't come off preachy
Disadvantages: not much

The movie is about a skinhead Derek Vinyard(Edward Norton), his dad was killed by a drug dealer in compton, and his views quickly turn very right-wing after that.The first scene shows Derek killing a guy trying to steal his car. A must-see, can't forget piece of cinema

Advantages: One of the most affecting films I have ever seen
Disadvantages: Not for the faint-hearted

With the wrangles between director Kaye and the studio, stellar performances by Norton and Furlong and gut-churning realism, this film is not to be missed. It shows the beating heart of white imperialism and how it preys on the young, disaffected and easily led like Norton's character and you feel utterly powerless watching him spiral into hate. Advantages: Its a great film
Disadvantages: boaring

This is a quality film!!! i really enjoyed it and te graphics were really good. i would really recomend this film to any cult freek like my friend miq ball!! What can i say, I loved this film although it was upsetting. I was surprised that I would like this film. I don't normally watch these kind of films but i loved this film! Advantages: very strong and moving film 5 star

edward norton stars as the leader of a nazi skin head racist gang. he has very strong views towards black people. throughout the movie he realises whats the point in doing all of the racist things he has done in the past, he spent time in jail for killing a black man who tried robbing his truck which, his dad gave to him, who was killed in a black neigbourhood. when he comes out of jail he quits his gang and asks his son (edward furlong) to leave ... Advantages: Strong story.. excellent acting
Disadvantages: Gruesome more than is necessary

This is the story of a man fuelled by racial hatred, after his father is killed by black criminals. The story follows is told from the view of his brother - played by Edward Furlong (Terminator 2) and follows his brother's joining of the racist cult and subsequent imprisonment for a very brutal and shocking murder (believe me you'll be shocked).
