This is an excellent film and one that still remains vivid in my mind even a few years after I had seen it. The actors are excellent and the story line is equally good, the twist at the end is a sad reminder of your past coming to haunt you and both ‘blacks’ and ‘whites’ need to learn to live together. American History X is an amazing film, a stark and forthright portrayal of some of the issues of rascism. It is powerful and thought provoking and has an ending which shocks you with it's impact. My mates had been nagging me to watch this film. They said it was the best they had seen and boy were they right. ...= 8.5 I have the American verion, but have seen the UK version. Both of them look fantastic with the UK version just winning because of the extra resolution offered by the PAL system. Sound = 9 A really involving Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is presented on the disc. It really sounds great. Dialogue is clearly separated and the score is presented very nicely. It studies racism in America, and unlike most films, it looks at both sides of the story instead of just saying "racism is wrong" without justifying the statement or looking at why the problem arises.
