...Stack played Rex Kramer in Airplane! and basically took the p*** out of himself as Elliot Ness in the TV version of The Untouchables. Acting all hard on the exterior while plainly not having a clue, Stack is the perfect foil to Hays and Nielsen here. The film wouldn't be the same without him. Is Airplane one of the funniest movies ever made? Ask this question in your local pub and you run the risk of starting a rampant debate. I hated it the first time I watched it - I must have been too young. It just gets better with each viewing. The film is a parody of every disaster movie ever made. Technical boring bits: Airplane is a paramount pitures production. Its written and directed by David and Jerry Zuker and Jim Abrahams (this may well tell you alot about the film already). as they went on to make police squad, which is very much in the same vein. Is Airplane the funniest film ever made? Apart from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, it certainly is. I have never seen a film where i have laughed so much. After many years I once again picked up a copy of Airplane in a car boot sale, the best couple of quid I've ever spent. Even though I have seen the film on numerous occasions it made me laugh from start to finish, hhilarious is the only word for it. This hilarious spoof movie makes fun of the whole Airport series of films, and also has fun at quite a few other classics such as Saturday Night Fever. The air hostess Elaine and Ted Striker have to fly the plane after the crew any many passengers get food poisoning from the fish meal.
