HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A GROWN MAN NAKED?
Review of Airplane! (Wide Screen) by
Ryan74
Advantages: Everything - perfect
Disadvantages: Nothing - perfect
Rumack: Can you fly this plane, and land it?
Striker: Surely you can't be serious.
Rumack: I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.
In all my days I have never seen a film which has given me so many consistent asthma attacks. 'Airplane!' is, quite simply, the funniest film ever made, I honestly cannot think of a better film. Let me tell you a little story. The first time I saw this film it was on the recommendation of my mother, and me and mother ...

I PICKED THE WRONG DAY TO GIVE UP AMPHETAMINES
Review of Airplane! (Wide Screen) by
Pumpkin
Advantages: Hilarious all the way through
Disadvantages: None
“Airplane!”: the original and best of all of the Zucker brothers spoof movies. Made in 1980, it spoofs the spate of “Airport” disaster movies made in the 1970s and is a laugh a minute, full of visual humour, one-liners and generally silly, nevertheless hilarious, jokes.
The basis of the plot revolves around Ted Striker (Robert Hays), an veteran Air Force pilot who has been traumatised by an air crash during the war. He has been dumped by his girlfriend, ...

Advantages: funny, funny, funny
Disadvantages: none really, some people may not like it
Airplane! (1980)
Characters
Robert Hays - Theodore 'Ted' Striker
Robert Hays plays an ex-aircraft pilot who flew in the war and caused a massive accident by telling his squadron to fly too low. He has been indecisive ever since and had trouble with his relationship with Elaine. Robert Hays plays this role with competence and is very good in making his character come alive. He has many minor roles since but never made it big-time.

If you like crazy none stop gags come fly with me
Review of Airplane! (Wide Screen) by
Dunc22
Advantages: Airplane crazy fun
Disadvantages: Not to everyones taste
Technical boring bits: Airplane is a paramount pitures production. Its written and directed by David and Jerry Zuker and Jim Abrahams (this may well tell you alot about the film already). as they went on to make police squad, which is very much in the same vein. Filmed and released in 1980 and I have an old video which is rated PG but i have seen the DVD box set rated 15, altough I dont know why. I can only asume its in somway related to 9/11 as it's ...

Does anyone know how to fly a plane?
Review of Airplane! (Wide Screen) by
jibro
Advantages: Hilarious spoof with Leslie Nielson on top form
Disadvantages: Some of jokes lost with age, silly gags not to some peoples' taste
'Airplane' (1980) takes inspiration from the many airplane disaster movies which seemed to spring up in 1970's, and injects a whole load of comedy into the genre, with hilarious results. Many of the actors in the film, such as Peter Graves, Leslie Nielson and Julie Hagerty, were seen at the time as 'serious actors', but watching it this is not apparent as each of them deliver their deadpan comedy and slapstick antics superbly. As many will know, this ...

And don't call me Shirley
Review of Airplane! (Wide Screen) by
Dawson
Advantages: Cheers up anyone
Disadvantages: Decreasing availaibility
Is Airplane the funniest film ever made? Apart from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, it certainly is. I have never seen a film where i have laughed so much. From the personal fights over the Airport PA system, to the crash landing itself, i reckon this film gives at least 5 laughs per minute. The film is about a young war pilot who is chasing his girlfriend who is leaving him. He follows her onto a plane where she is stewardessing, and tries ...

Joey, have you ever seen a grown man naked?
Review of Airplane! (Wide Screen) by
midpikyrozziy
Advantages: Hilarious, witty, laugh-out-loud humor
Disadvantages: You'll be annoying everyone by telling them how good this is
Airplane! has surely got to be considered as one of the all time greats of satirical comedy today. Spoofing disaster movies, Airplane! will manages to have 95% of any audience in hysterics throughout the film.
Brought to you by the same guys who directed Leslie Nielsen's similarly hilarious series Police Squad, Jim Abrahams, and David Zucker, this film uses all sorts of jokes - crude, intelligent, slapstick - to extract as many laughs as possible.
The ...

Review of Airplane! (Wide Screen) by

Advantages: see article
Disadvantages: see article
After many years I once again picked up a copy of Airplane in a car boot sale, the best couple of quid I've ever spent. Even though I have seen the film on numerous occasions it made me laugh from start to finish, hhilarious is the only word for it.
Some of the one liners are so dry and the wit is fantastic, checking the airplane oil on a dip stick and of the best bit of all autopilot.
Anyway I will not spoil it by telling you more go out and ...

Review of Airplane! (Wide Screen) by
daseaford
Advantages: Very funny.
Disadvantages: Only a short film.
This hilarious spoof movie makes fun of the whole Airport series of films, and also has fun at quite a few other classics such as Saturday Night Fever.
The air hostess Elaine and Ted Striker have to fly the plane after the crew any many passengers get food poisoning from the fish meal. The crew of Captain Oveur, Victor and Roger all collapse and the plane is destined to crash. In such a serious scenario the whole film is just one joke after another. ...
