The Addams Family was released in 1991 and was such a hit that they immediately commissioned a sequel, Addam's Family Values. Whereas the original black and white TV shows (and the new 90s version) were played for slapstick laughs, this film's humour is as black as night, as dry as a bone and all the better for it. ...boasts a quality sequel in Addams Family Values. The late Raul Julia is superb as Gomez Addams, as is Anjelica Huston as Morticia. Christina Ricci in one of her earliest roles is equally superb as Wednesday, but who's the little fat kid?! There is absolutely no way to fault this film at all. Much better than the television show starring John Astin, this movie is brilliant because of Raul Julia and Angelica Huston in the starring roles of Gomez and Morticia in this film about a loveable, but unusual family. Disadvantages: gets boring if you watch it too many times.
