...(in terms of the premise), 50 First Dates is neither a straight romantic comedy like Groundhog Day nor a thought-provoking thriller like A Beautiful Mind - it's perhaps fair to say that it falls somewhere in between. While there is an element of romantic comedy (and there is certainly chemistry between Sandler and Barrymore), most of the humour is too crude or stupid to be really funny, and the emotional element of the film is much more effective. ...
...not really suitable for children under 13. (To be honest I wouldn't bother getting this on DVD, however if I saw it packaged with The Wedding Singer, a film I really loved, I wouldn't mind having 50 First Dates as well. I hope that makes sense... :-D) ...

I like Adam Sandler films, I know they are not very grown up or mature, but I like to have a laugh at a ‘no-brainer’ type of film occasionally. You can't help but fall in love with Adam Sandler in this film. I am a big fan of his anyway, but he shows such a caring side to himself in this movie. I especially liked the connection between him & Drew Barrymore...and 10 second Tom is hysterical.
