Advantages: Eddie Murphy Disadvantages: Limited comedy, not a great storyline
...killers to justice. 48 Hours is something that has recently been doing it’s rounds on the Sky Movies channels and I decided to watch it on the recommendation of my Dad after hearing how much he enjoyed it, we tend to have very similar tastes in films so I was expecting to thoroughly enjoy this. Being a big fan of Eddie Murphy is something that made me want to see this even more.
Nick Nolte is someone that I’m not too familiar with, I vaguely remember ... ...he looked very different but other than that I haven’t seen him in anything else. After his performance in this film I’m not particularly interested in seeing him anything else again. He plays a very gruff, moody talking cop in this film. Some women seem to like the brooding and moody macho type, I’m not such a fan of it. He simply has no personality in this film at all and is nowhere near as likeable as his co-star. You don’t care about his character ...

Advantages: The first of its kind, bad cop, good cop Disadvantages: out of date
...gets out of prison for 48 hours in -order to help him bust some criminals. Why Reggie? Well he is the former partner and inmate of the criminal called Ganzt (James Remar) and has clues to his where abouts. Gantz and another criminal have taken a hostage and killed two cops which is when Jack is prompted to bring them in, with Reggie's assistance. The chase is on for the bad guys, as Reggie will have to return to prison after (2 days) 48hours!!
This ... ...the 80's, if you have not seen it you might think it is a bit dated but when watching it try to keep in mind that it is the first of its kind. This is a very well directed film by Walter Hill. The language in the film maybe a bit explicit for the under 12's. A great watch fantabulous!!! Enjoy. Cast - Eddie Murphy

Advantages: Better than most TV movies Disadvantages: You've probably seen it all before
Nick Nolte, your typical american cop, (who has a bit of drink problem and has racist tendancies) is forced to team up with the ever slick Eddie Murphy, a wise cracking, down-on-his-luck criminal, in order to solve a murder case.
Nolte being the all-american that he is hates this from the off and does everyhting in his power to ensure that Murphy has a rough ride. Eddie Murphy, in a typical wise cracking role, takes it in his stride knowing he holds ... ...is ok, the plot is easy to follow and watching a friendship that would never have been likely, develop can be heartwarming but cheesy at the same time.
This is one of the first american cop movies I can remeber and I always think of it when watching Lethal Wepon or the like.
Good performances from Nolte and Murphy makes an average film seem quite good. ...
