Advantages: Sandra Bullock, great plot
Disadvantages: none

...by the court to spend 28 days in a rehab clinic or face doing time in prison. Begrudgingly she agrees, but once at the clinic she goes into denial that she has a problem and dismisses all the group counseling sessions, rules and rituals as rubbish. But after her initial rebellion, she starts to bond with the other residents and along with assistance of her counselor, Cornell (Steve Buscemi) she starts to accept that she has a problem. Knowing that ... Read review

Sandra Swearing? Surely Not???
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by Pmshack99

Advantages: good storyline, well developed characters, good balance of serious and silly
Disadvantages: none

...choice - jail time or 28 days in a rehab centre. She opts for the latter, sure that she doesn't really have a problem and that her time in the centre will be a breeze. Not long after, withdrawal symptoms kick in and Gwen starts to realise that her old life wasn't quite as great as she thought it was. Suddenly she has to deal with group counselling sessions and chanting, as well as confront some demons from her past - like her own mother's alcoholism. ... Read review

28 days to get a life
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by VampirePrincessLizzy

Advantages: fun filled story for all
Disadvantages: none!

****** 28 Days ****** This film for me is a feel good film as I like to say, shows you that you can achieve something if you want it hard enough. If ive had a bad day or just feeling down in the dumps this movie always cheers me up. Sandra Bullock stars as Gwen Cummings an alcoholic who just wants to live life with out thinking of the consequences in-between. Bullock who I think is one of the best female actors plays a superb role. The acting ... Read review

Serious or Not?
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by j22o2

Advantages: fairly entertaining
Disadvantages: a bit lightweight

...case) in the form of 28 days, I figured….Sandra Bullock, Viggo Mortensen and rehab, I'll give it a go. Plot Gwen Cummings (Sandra Bullock) is a raging alcoholic who is also fond of the occasional hand full of pills. Along with her oh so British boyfriend (who in real life is British…but I'm sure we don't sound like that!) she lives it up in Manhattan drinking every night and doing all manner of things then forgetting them the next morning. ... Emotional Excellence
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by Mohammed

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

28 Days shares the most basic template: a charming central character has a flaming burnout that lands them in rehab. Such anguished self-confrontations are automatically moving to watch, no matter how many times you've seen them in other movies, in part because talented actors shamelessly crave the chance to play such scenes. There's a level of emotional excellence below which such movies almost never fall. 28 Days is a perfect case in point: With ... Read review

Repetitive
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by christopherj84

Advantages: not really bad
Disadvantages: repetive, obvious storyline

...is sent ot rehab for 28 days. (hence; the film name) It is very obvious what happens in the film and soon becomes boring. She, at first is adimant that she will not chant and will continue to party, while hating the rehab clinic and everyone in it. But this chanbges as presumed. Sandra Bullock does a good job as the drunk, drugged woman who goes in a party-person and realises her horrible past. At times. it is funny and you catch yourself laughing, ... Read review

not up to scracth
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by juliebushnell

Advantages: good acting
Disadvantages: terrible storyline

Sandra Bullock hit the A-list running, after finding herself behind the wheel of the bus in Speed. Since then she has made one turkey after another. Who remembers Richard Attenborough's film about young Ernest Hemingway in an Italian hospital, being cared for by a sensible nurse (our Sandra)? It died a death at the box office, despite being one of her better efforts. Now she wants to rubbish the wholesome image by playing an alcoholic, who is ... Read review

In need of Rehab?
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by miffyslove

Advantages: it's worth the enrty fee
Disadvantages: I wouldn't watch it again, it a one-timer type film

28 Days skips breezily through the paces of the rehab movie, almost as though it knows we've already seen this kind of thing before -- so why torture us with the lengthy withdrawal scenes and dreary group-therapy sessions? Instead, we get Sandra Bullock in a very self-assured star turn, showcased amidst the other recovering drug addicts and alcoholics at a pleasant woodsy treatment center. She plays a high-living Manhattanite whose embarrassing ... Read review

Advantages: exellent film with great acting
Disadvantages: none

Sandra Bullock plays as the drug and alcohol addict called Gwen Cummings. Gwen is everyones favourite party girl and enjoys the occasional drink. When she turns up late for her sisters wedding drunk, then ruins the cake and manages to knockover a knome and drive into someones house whilst driving the wedding car. After this disaster, instead of getting sent to jail, she is sent into rehap where she thinks it'll be easy and she'll be out in no time. ... Read review

A very moving film
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by Gingergal

Advantages: Powerful drama
Disadvantages: N/A

...drunk, Bullock is sentenced for 28 days at a rehab clinic where she is forced to confront her demons and accept her situation. The film focus on her struggle to accept her addiction and the depths she will succumb because of it. Some of the best scenes are her unwillingness to accept help and the touching moment in which her roommate overdoes. The great thing about 28 Days is that it doesn’t set out to be moralistic. It doesn’t judge any ... Read review

Depressingly Real
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by james.whelan

Advantages: Funny lines in places by the supporting cast
Disadvantages: Too realistic, Sandra Bullock unbelivable as such a character

After being recommended this film, I went to watch it. Starring Sandra Bullock as a freelance magazine article writer, very much in to the drugs 'n' drink scence that seems part-and-parcel of the industry she works in. As the title suggests, it is about the time she spends in re-hab. Full of the stereotypical people - the black woman with two kids, the camp guy, the slimball etc. etc. To say the film isnt funny would be untrue, and admittedly there ... Read review

28 tiresome days
Review of 28 Days (Wide Screen) by fkeay

Advantages: Sandra Bullock
Disadvantages: Rather dull

28 Days stars Sandra Bullock as an alcoholic and drug addict. Although this film deals with very serious issues it is a comedy because of the behaviour that of those in the rehabilitation centre – the lengths that those desperate for drugs and alcohol will attempt to continue their habits. The film has some very emotional scenes because of having to view the scenes of going ‘cold-turkey’ that are seen in a rehabilitation centre and how tortuous it ... Read review
