The BlueLagoon in Iceland is an experience that cannot really be described without being there first hand, but I will try no less to tell you about this lovely place.
Location / Getting There
------------------------------
The Lagoon is based in the middle of nowhere in Iceland; it is about a 35-40 minute drive from Reykjavik via road, and is a short detour past Keflavik airport.
The only way to the Lagoon is via road as I stated, there are regular departures from Reykjavik Excursions BSI bus terminal daily or there are other excursions from different tour operators.
The actual Lagoon is literally in the middle of nowhere in the depths of the beautiful Icelandic landscape. The surrounding area is barren and reminded me of what I would expect the moon to look like. There are a few mountain ranges within view and besides ...
Advantages: Childhood memories, fantastic film, there's a moosehead! Disadvantages: Very scary for 4 year olds!
- this film is a U(niversal) after all - it should be suitable for the likes of us. Actually the DVD is a PG - but it turns out that it was a U when it was first released!
That's my first memory of being in a cinema, whether it was actually my first time in the cinema I'm not sure (it might well be). I'm not sure why my mum wasn't there, perhaps she was in reality. I'm not sure if we stayed for the end of the film or if C's crying got too much. But I remember those scary wheelie men.
Fast forward a couple of years and I remember I had a "Ding?turn the page" Returnto Oz storybook and tape which I listened to on my Fisherprice cassette player. I loved it. Over the years I remember being eager to watch this when it was shown on TV, perhaps I even got it out from the video shop too.
Returnto Now-ish

Returnto the Frontline ~
I brought this DVD after watching the first series from Ross Kemp last year.
I have always shared an interest in these war documentaries and this series interested me not just because of the actor Ross but also of the reality of the Afghanistan War we are currently fighting. This series is a five part documentary which was aired on Sky One and shows Ross Kemp staying and following the action of modern warfare by British Soldiers. In the two series he and a small film crew take part in operations and follow the soldiers into the frontline with the Taliban. The series is very addictive and when I had received the series on DVD from Play.com I watched the whole thing in two nights. I think it is a great way of showing civilians what our soldier go through in the most dangerous war at current time. It ...

DVD Description
In this sequel to the 1980 original, Richard and Emmeline, the two teens from the first film, and their infant son, set out to sea in a boat. The parents die, but the infant is rescued by a passing ship. Before long, plague breaks out on the ship, and a young woman and her infant daughter take the baby boy and wind up on the very same island where the boy was born. The days become years as three stranded castaways, make a life for themselves. When the woman dies, the two now grown children (Milla Jovovich and Brian Krause) must learn to cope. Their life together is blissful, but not without physical and emotional challenges.
