I first saw this film when it came out in 1985 when I was a young teenager and have harped on about it ever since. I tried to buy it on video a few years ago on ebay where it was selling for £60 - £100 but didn't win. I nearly had a heart attack when I heard it was being re - released on 18th April this year - yippeee. I was first in the queue to buy it but became quiet nervous when sticking it in the dvd for the family to watch. Would it be as good as I remembered? and would it apeal to the non scottish members of the family (which is all of them apart from me!!!!). I need not have worried, it was even better than I remembered.
The film is a PG rating and the quality of the picture and sound is excellent, you would not beleive it is from 1985. Without giving to much away the story line is as follows -
Set in the Scottish highlands (it did make me feel homesick!) two young men decide to hold up tourist coaches to make money and they become local celebs by doing so and do a bit of a Rob Roy and give some away to the needy. There is of course lots more to it but if I tell you it all, there will be no need for you to watch it. All I will say is that it is an excellent story with excellent sound track (Big Country) and has some great Scottish humour in it. Even the other half and the kids said it was good.
I hope you find this helpful even although I haven't said to much, I think I've said enough - JUST WATCH IT, you won't be disappointed.

I can understand fully how you felt when this film was finally released on DVD. I recall, maybe somewhat sadly, watching this at least 50 times when it was originally released on video back in the 80s. Now I have it ready and it hsn't lost any of it's magic!!!
