Zombies, Mutated Bio-weapons and a Killing Machine with a Rocket Launcher, what else do you want?
If you are a Resident Evil fan like me, you will enjoy this film but notice the many differences from the Resident Evil game franchise. If you’re not a fan, then you will still find the film enjoyable.
The Plot follows on from where the first film finished. The hive is re-opened and the T-Virus is leaked into Raccoon City, turning its inhabitants in blood thirsty zombies. The film follows Alice (Milla Jovovich) and other survivors including S.T.A.R.S member Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) and U.B.C.S member Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr) from the Resident Evil 3 game. The Umbrella Corporation then activate their latest Bio Weapon, Nemesis for field testing, and its mission is to eliminate the remaining S.T.A.R.S members. The Survivors have to escape Raccoon City before a nuclear device destroys it to wipe out the virus and cover Umbrella’s tracks.
I thought the Story was good as it basically follows the plot of the third Resident Evil game. The acting was good, and the special effects where on top form. However actual gore was at a minimum due to the 15 certificate. I would of liked to see more gore especially for a Zombie film.
There wasn't very many shocks in this film, but did provide some on the edge of your seat moments.
I liked this film very much due to my love of Resident Evil, though I was annoyed with the mistakes made by the film when compared to the video games. For example, in the game Jill Valentine never meets someone called Alice. Also S.T.A.R.S members are in abundance in the film, however in the games all but five were killed before the Raccoon City incident.
The DVD that I bought came with a range of special features, including Deleted Scenes, audio commentary and a documentary but this will depend whether you get the Normal DVD or Blu-Ray addition.
The price will vary between normal DVD and Blu-ray, £7 for Normal DVD and £14 for Blu-ray from Play.com
Overall I thought the film was very good and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Zombie movies, it may not please die hard horror fans, due to its mildness in gore, but still a good addition to any collection.

A fine review there, though I must say I just hated this film as much as the first one; sorry, I'm a purist and just feel this these films are poor clones of the classic George A. Romero zombie films like NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD and DAWN OF THE DEAD. Chris x
