Advantages: Excently priced, good old fashioned entertainment Disadvantages: No DVD extras
...Jonathan Creek was almost something I had grown up with, turning into somewhat of a cult show during the late 90’s. So, when I found a DVD box set life looked up, and with good reason. Put simply, this DVD set is seriously worth a look, with its combination of comedy, intrigue and mystery Jonathan Creek is a must have for any mystery lover.
Starring Alan Davies as Jonathan, the magician’s assistant and Caroline Quentin as Maddy the investigative journalist the pair strike up an unlikely bond. From his windmill home, the unlikely pairing of Creek and Maddy take on an array of unfathomable cases that would trouble Hercule Poirot, but are no problem for the magical mind of Jonathan. The firstseries contains five one hour mysteries, the second again the same number but with the inclusion of a two part special. Retailing at £24.99 in most...

Advantages: excellent comical value Disadvantages: wheres the rest fo the friends cast?
...This is a great series! How can people not like it, its the best character from friend in a whole series!! Joey has become a totally different person and there are so many new sides to him now!! This is highly recommended to all joey/friends fans alike. And the woman who plays his sister.. couldnt have chose a better actress. She plays the ultimate sibling and makes the series so much better along with the neurotic neighbour and the geeky nephew. I have these series on dvd disk and would reommend you to buy these. The retail price is very reasonable for the comical value of the series. I would also suggest that if buying series 1, purchase series 2 also! Definatly a must buy for all people!...

Advantages: Very funny, fast, loveable characters Disadvantages: DVD menus
...This was the first fast show DVD i bought. I was very pleased with it, the characters are hilarious as ever! However, if you want more value for money I would buy the 3rd series, just because you get an extra DVD. But series 2 has characters that disappear in the later series and is also a step up from the firstseries which was just starting off.
One thing I dislike is the DVD menus. Most people seem to find them difficult to follow and confusing, but they are bright and colourful. They express the "fast" in the show.
If you've never watched the fast show before I would recommend this DVD. As it's a 30 minute sketch show, you quickly learn the character's traits and begin to adore them, even if you never watched the firstseries. I'd give this 9/10...
