In mid 2004, i found myself looking through songs on my computer, and not being able to find any music to listen to. So, i went out, and came back with Red Hot Chili Peppers Live at Slane Castle. t was quite random becaus ei had only ever heard the classic songs "under the bridge" and "californication" for example.
I put the DVD on play, and i was stunned for hours (i really was).
I am personally extremely open minded with music, being a musician myself, so i listen to a lot of music, and never really took a liking to the Peppers.

After watching this dvd i feel like i was standing there on the front row watching their brilliant musicianship.

Ah, to their musicianship ...
Anthony Keidis - Although he hasn't the best voice in the world, the way he strolled onto stage and started "By The Way" makes you wonder who else can get away with this but HIM!?
John Frusciante - Again, his amazing ability to improvise and put his soul into a track completes their songs. Also, the way he connects with Michael Balzary (best known as FLEA!) creates such an outstanding presence in a 'jam'.
Flea- I always knew he was good, but not THIS GOOD! His bas technique proves him to being one of the best mainstream bassists in the world. And how can i forget his stage presence, jumping around like some crazed animal on this dvd brings a smile to your face ;). Don't miss out on his trumpet improvisation with Chad at the end!
Chad Smith - What better drummer to keep an amazing mainstream funk band together. His elegance of playing and perfect technique will not let you down if you watch this performance!

All of these members pull together to perform the most beautiful songs. To name a few featured on the DVD.
(In order of appearance)

By The Way - Played perfectly, great improvisation from Flea, Chad and John at the end, this followed the improvised introduction at the start of the dvd.
Scar Tissue - Vocal Harmonies of dreams from John, Anthony and Flea, not to mention the improvisation yet again from Flea :p
Around the World - Includes amazing 'dancing' i s'pose you could call it from flea, again great performance.
Venice Queen - Following a masterpiece of improvisation with effects from John, you can feel soul in this song (and i don't mean the musical genre).
Under The Bridge - How could i leave this out? This song is based on Anthony's loss of an extremely close friend, ex chili pepper guitarist, due to a drug overdose.
I cannot leave out all of the improvisation and jam's they have throughout the performance. These show musical initiative and add the candles onto the cake (i've used icing on the cake below)
In all of the above songs, especially "Under the bridge" you can feel 110% effort from all the performers and the feeling that is put into the songs, i just can not explain, this is one feature you have to see for yourself. Really..it is.

I can't fail to mention that the quality of sound and effects on this DVD do not let the band down at all. The DVD's sound and visual effects make the icing on the cake.

This performance is a drug, the side-effects are being addicted to it and the band, "dancing" or rather crazily jumping aorund you're living room floor,or depending on what type of mood you're in, being gobsmacked throughout the duration.
I was not a red hot chili peppers fan before i wacthed this DVD, heck i only purchased it because my dad had a credit voucher for the shop.
This is my advise, if you like a few chili's songs or you are interested in mainstream funk and love watching live improvisation, this is perfect for you !
