==** WHAT IS RED DWARF..?==

Red Dwarf is a sci-fi comedy which was initially created in 1983 with the first series being aired on the BBC. In the very beginning there was an on board radiation leak, (thought to be caused by the incompetent Rimmer) which killed everyone on board apart form Lister, who was imprisoned in ‘Stasis’, (suspended animation) for possessing an illegal life form, ( a cat he had found on a planet). Lister ...
...he and the crew of Red Dwarf run into many obstacles, some serious, some silly, but all very dangerous for a man lost in space.

==**LIST OF CHARACTERS…==

'''Dave Lister''', _(Craig Charles)_, was the lowly technician on the doomed mining ship before the fatal radiation leak and is now the only human left alive. He survives on hot curries and home made drinks, which gives him a rather ’different’ odour, although this ... more

...The success of the Red Dwarf novels, Infinity welcomes carefull drivers and Better than life. Had allowed Rob Grant and Doug Naylor to tidy up a few parts of the story that they had found a little unworkable. So from this point on Red Dwarf belonged to the 23rd century and not the 21st. In addition the crew had been increased from 169 to 1169. With all but Lister now dead. This is not unreasonable considering the ship is 5 miles long. Also Listers ...

The one that starts with Camille

Advantages: Another great series and superb extras
Disadvantages: A couple of weak episodes

...Series 4 of the Red Dwarf sees the show reaching maturity in terms of cast, crew and production. Becoming more and more popular on both sides of the Atlantic the clunky production of the first two series are a distant memory. Movie style sets and special effects make the show much more professional looking and the quality of the acting takes another step forward. Some of the episodes may be a touch leaden but the leads are more than capable of carrying ...
...Red Dwarf story, here is a brief recap. Dave Lister (Craig Charles) is the sole surviving crew member of the spaceship Red Dwarf. Arnold Rimmer (Chris Barrie), who was previously his superior, has been brought back as a hologram by the ships computer, Holly (Hattie Hayridge), to keep Lister company. Also on board is The Cat (Danny John Jules), a creature who has evolved from Lister's pet cat and the mechanoid Kryten (Robert Llewellyn). Having been ...

...If you've never heard of Red Dwarf before, I'd recommend reading one of the Series One reviews to get a better idea of what the show is about. Still three million years into deep space, Dave Lister (Craig Charles) is still the last human alive, and together with his shipmates, an onboard computer Holly, (Hattie Hayridge) a hologram of his dead bunkmate, Rimmer (Chris Barrie), a life form that evolved from his pet cat, known simply as The Cat (Danny ...
...Having reached its forth series, Red Dwarf had secured its place as a success. The BBC was therefore willing to spend a little more money on the show. This shows I think in terms of the sets, which now look even more stylish and realistic, (thanks to Mel Bibby's continuing expertise) and this really helps to carry the show to a new level. Visually, there are occasional problems with lighting given Robert's prosthetic-mask and Danny's dark skin colour, ...

Review of Red Dwarf Season 4 (DVD)

Just the wonderful, hilarious shows...

Advantages: All the shows, some are true classics, none are stinkers...
Disadvantages: ... Red Dwarf can be a bit of an acquired taste, I suppose...

Orange Alert! Orange Alert! - long review ahead. If like me you find the "Bonus" material on DVD packages to be, by and large, a total waste of time, you may well find the release of Red Dwarf "Just The Shows" to be a real tonic. For the price of about two of the individual episode bundles, you get all the episodes from the first four series. You get no bonus material whatsoever - it is, as it says, just the shows. Hurrah! The packaging is minimalist but stylish, with a four-way folding DVD holder in a compact box. The DVD menus are there to give you what you want with the minimum of fuss - access to each episode and a "Play All2 function. What more could you possibly want?!? Overview On board the mining ship Red Dwarf are two highly trained technicians? well, soup machine attendants really. After ending up in stasis ...
