Advantages: it's what you call entertainment Disadvantages: being on widescreen
...I heard all the media hype about the matrix and so i wanted to see it for myself .I wasn't expecting much because the media usually really overate the not so good films .I was a bit dissapointed that it was widescreen because it is so much more effective watching a film on full screen .I was amazed by the special effects, they really were outstanding .The shattering of glass looks really realistic on dvd infact most of this fictional film seemed to be very real .Also the sound on dvd is so much better than on video .It is just as good as watching a film in the cinema .The matrix is a stunning film that will leave you lost for words, and when you watch it on dvd you really feel a part of it ....

Advantages: A good thriller with its roots in history, fantastic performance by Forest Whitaker Disadvantages: Difficult to feel empathy with the "hero", some violent scenes
...I missed this film at the cinema so was keen to see it once it made it onto DVD. Although the main character is real, and some of the other characters too, the story itself is entirely fictional, as is the doctor played by James McAvoy.
The performance by Forest Whitaker has been widely praised, and for good reason. His portrayal of Amin, brings together the charm and menace of the man. It would be a role that would be very easy to go over the top, and be almost a charicature but his performace is far more subtle. Which improves the film and gives more shock value to violence in the film.
It is very difficult to have much sympathy for Doctor Garirgan as portrayed by James McAvoy. Attitudes in the 70's were different, but his constant womanising left me feeling less sympathetic to his plight. I have to feel that this was part...

Advantages: Brilliant time endless episode collection Disadvantages: Some episodes a little bit cheesy
...Head, Alson Hannigan and Charisma Carpenter.
Buffy has a brilliant soundtrack featuring something for everyone it features a mix of original, indie, rock and pop music.
It is filmed in California but is set in a fictional town called Sunnydale, which is on top of a hellmouth, the gates of hell.
There are a lot of metaphors in the show turning real teen troubles into actual monsters.
The characters of the dvd-
Willow starts off as a bit of a geek in the series and she is a contrast to Buffy's outgoing personality, As the series progresses, Willow turns into a powerful witch, and a lesbian.
Angel is a vampire with a soul, he is Buffy's true love throughout the whole series even though hes not always with her, only in the first 3 seasons. He leaves Buffy to make amends for his sins and search for redemption in his own spin-off, Angel.

Advantages: brilliant story and effects Disadvantages: complicated
...The Matrix is one of the most incredible films I have ever seen. It has a mix of action, science fiction and incredible special effects.
It is about the idea that the world is not real and that is called the Matrix. There is a group of people who control what happens inside the Matrix and a group of people try to destroy the Matrix, so they have to find the chosen one. Eventually they find him and destroy all the badies. I would recommend this film to anyone who is into sience fiction films and action....

Advantages: Great cast, tantalising plot Disadvantages: Some might find it unnecessarily vulgar and violent in parts
...Pulp Fiction was the winner of the 1992 Palme D’Or at the Cannes Film festival, and deservedly so. One of Tarantino’s better efforts, this one, a cult masterpiece. The cast is awesome – a career-reviving performance from John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson before he really made the big time, Uma Thurman and Bruce Willis, and also Ving Rhames make up the rest of the star-studded list, most of whom have gone on to even bigger and better fame since. The plot is well-thought out and original, and there are some great scenes and from start to finish, even though it is long, the time never seems to drag. A few brief Cameos by Tarantino’s perennial favourites Roth and Keitel make the film all the more enjoyable. A real triumph....
