Advantages: Great debut album, with some catchy tracks. Disadvantages: N/A
After creating an album with Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, Miles Kane returns to his band "The Rascals". The bands very first album titled "Rascalize" is a great debut album which is very "monkey - esque" mixed with a 60s sound. The album contains "Out Of Dreams" and "I'll Give you Sympathy" which have been doing the rounds on the internet for a while. Most tracks on the album follow in the upbeat way of "Freakbeat Phantom" which was released pre-album. "Rasacalize" is slightly more mature lyrics wise than an Arctic Monkeys album but does seem to have a "Monkeys" sound to it. All in all this a great debut album which should bring " The Rascals" into their own by overshadowing their frontmans Puppets project. ...
Advantages: 15 tracks plus DVD Disadvantages: Low quality beats
This is the second album from the UK\'s veteran Grime/Garage/UK Hip-Hop star. His hit debut album \'Boy in da corner\' which featured great tracks like \'I Luv You\' and ?Fix Up Look Sharp? but the second album unfortunately doesn\'t have the same originality and heavy lyrics. In this album Dizzee spits (raps) bars (lyrics) about growing up in in the working class Borough of Bow and things that happen in the endz (area) and his rise to fame. The beats which were produced by Dizzee himself is in my opinion not up to the standards of Garage beats of today. But the album is good value for money, 15 tracks plus a DVD which has videos ?Fix Up Look Sharp?, ?I Luv You?, ?Stand Up Tall? and ?Just a Rascal?. My favourite tracks on the album are 09.Get By ft. Vanya and 12.Girls ft. Marga Man. ...
With his first album "boy in da corner" Dylan Mills well known as Dizzee Rascal managed to smash the doors open for UK rap, and finally shine some light for the uk born MCS...which was ( still is kinda ) dominated by american rap superstars, but all the same at least dizzee has shown some of the Uk's talent, and even showing his skills in the US.
So ever since his smash first album, Dizzee has won the prestigious Mercury Prize, and well made his bank balance very healthy indeed!.
But can the uk born talent prove he can repeat the sucess and second time round??....
Showtime has alot more breakbeats, electric sounds and dizzee often spittin furry.
Showtime? sees the Rascal leap beyond the ?grime? scene that spawned him. Dizzee confidently weaves his vocal thrust through glitchy twists that?d do any rap head proud.
