Advantages: Good chemistry between actors, nice cinematography, well cast Disadvantages: Child acting poor at times, directing unsatisfactory for first two films
...waiting until all eight films are out (there will be two films for the last book) before buying a boxset, to save yourself some money.
My Conclusion
As films of books go, these DVDs aren't bad at all. The acting isn't awful, neither is the directing, and every aspect of film gets about 25% better as each film goes on.
They are well worth seeing, but I urge you to read the books before you watch the DVDs if you have done neither, it is a much more rewarding and valuable experience....

Advantages: Well acted, Great Book Adaptation Storylines, Fun for All Ages Disadvantages: Each Movie is About Three Hours Long
...be ignored by the overall storyline.
I was slightly disapointed by this third story since it really didn't go by the books my L.M Montgomery at all. The first two movies are at least based on her books , but this movie was almost entirely made up. I was hoping the third movie would follow the other books about Anne as she is grown up with Children.
Still, the movie was well made and entertaining. It was good to see the actors again, and the costumes anad attention to detail from the World War I era are fantastic. It's not as good as the first two movies, but well worth a watch.
******Conclusion*****
All these movies in the BoxSet; Anne of Green Gables, The Sequel , and The Continuing Story, are so much fun. Children around the age of 7 and up will enjoy the first one. While children more around the age of 10 and up would...

Advantages: Offers freedom to watch all films so you can keep a continual track of the story. Disadvantages: Although enjoyable, the later films are more compelling to view than those before.
...As an avid Potter fan, it is difficult to hide a natural joy at the chance to watch all 5 films back to back in a complete boxset. The lengthy process of filming has meant that the earlier releases of Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone I have purchased are actually on the old school format of VHS! The boxset experience not only provides extended quality by means of the DVD format but allows the viewer to watch the character grow up from film to film without delay. The oustanding performance of Professor Snape, played by Alan Rickman, never fails to grip and terrify, particularly as the later films begin to introduce a dark and sinister edge that is suggestive of what awaits in those still to come. Harry, Ron and Hermione remain a likable trio throughout, yet their obvious progression towards maturity results in momentrary...
