Production Year: 2000 - Action/Adventure - Director: Joseph McGinty - Original Language: English - Classification: 15 years and over - Starring:Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, Bill Murray, Kelly Lynch, Tim Curry, Sam Rockwell, Crispin Glover
Advantages: You'll love it if you're after old-school violence and action. Disadvantages: Dreadful acting, poor writing, pedestrian direction.
Former soldier John Rambo has been living peacefully in Northern Thailand for twenty years. But he is unwillingly pulled back into a war zone when a group of American missionaries convince him to take them upriver to Burma. But news soon reaches him that they didn't return. It's up to him to take a band of mercenaries into Burma after them. But how can so few men compete against the might of the Burmese army?
Sylvester Stallone back in action mode ... ...And it's not as though Rambo would be a hero to the population anyway as he goes in to rescue the white people, leaving the locals to mop up and deal with any reprisals. The way Stallone shoots the action feels irredeemably naff. It's all about the explosions and bloody deaths that lack context so feel utterly gratuitous and there's even the clichéd device of showing the flames from a burning village reflected in the sunglasses of the evil army captain. ...

Advantages: Great picture quality Disadvantages: Its Rambo!
...Except for the occasional compression artifact speckle, the digital transfer is awesome. Delivered in the film's original 2.35:1 widescreen ration, the images are sharp and vivid, with spectacular colors, honest flesh tones and brick wall blacks. An excellent presentation enhanced at 16:9 for widescreen televisions. Fiery reds, penetrating blues, and soothing earth tones combine to create a crisp, visually exciting picture.
As for the sound - expressive 2.0 Dolby Surround sound features dynamic basses, piercing highs, excellent stereo separation and strong, distinctive dialogue. No audible hiss or distortion. Natural ambient noise, and great front-to-rear coverage. The cave sequences are especially haunting thanks to the great echo effects.
If you liked Rambo, the quality of this DVD will not dissapoint - get it now. Recommended....

Advantages: you will never get bored of him and will end up watching it again Disadvantages: there only 3 rambos and i wish there was more
...i think that rambo three is the best out of the three. i would recommend it to any one. there so much action . i personally have all three rambos and have watched them more than once and will properly cary on watching them over and over and over again as i never get bored of him. i also feel that in no point of the film will you get bored, yes the film are getting old now but there still a very good popular film. he is a proper war machine and nothing will get in his way, when he's set out to do something he will do it no matter what it takes and even if it means putting his life on the line. i well and truly love it pleas watch it and feel the joy i do.
thanks...

Advantages: Classic John Rambo action Disadvantages: Stallone could have done a better job on everything
...To be honest, I believe that this Rambo film was a little disappointing. For me it was Rambo 2 all over again, however this time Stallone is about 100 years old. Having said that, if I could look like that at his age, well, that would be nice.
This isn't a very long film and for the first 30 minutes, it is pretty rubbish. But for the rest of the film expect nothing less than true John Rambo style action with blood and guts going everywhere, it makes First Blood look like Bambi.
Basically it is 90 minutes of action adrenaline violence. No more, no less!!
If you have 90 minutes of your life free and like insane action and aren't squimish or if you are a BIG Rambo fan, then it is worth a watch however if not then give it a miss....
