Advantages: Episode 6 is brilliant - real edge of the seat stuff Disadvantages: The other episodes don't live up to Countrycide
...This is episodes6-9 of series one of Torchwood. In my opinion the episodes on this dvd are generally not as high quality as the first 5 episodes. However, Countrycide (episode6) is one of the best episodes of the series. It develops the charcter of Ianto further, after he first played a major role in Cyberwoman. Episode 7 gives Tosh a little more to do, she leads the episode extremely well and for me is one of the better actors in the series. Episode 8 is pretty slow to get going and is one of the few episodes that would not work at all as a stand alone episode. It feels a little rushed in the concluding 5 minutes, as though too much time was spent on the build up and there wasn't enough left for the action. Episode9, Random Shoes was the weakest of the bunch, I do not feel it added much to the character of Gwen that we did not...

Advantages: Hilarious comedy, good viewing Disadvantages: only 3 episodes, expensive to buy whole set individually
...Another installement to my DVD collection - the epic and classic comedy hero - Mr Bean. I love Rowan Atkinson, especially in Black Adder and also in the classic Mr Bean episodes. Despite my mood before hand, after watching Mr Bean I always feel much better, he always manages to intrigue my imagination with his biazarre mannerisms and abilty to turn the most straight forward of tasks into complete disaters!
Having not being able to buy the whollebox set I have had to purchase and review each DVD volume one by one.
This DVD contains 3 episodes, each with 3 or 4 sketches in them. All of whihc are brilliant and this DVD includes one of my favourites - the one where he goes to the swimming pool and clings to the diving board. The three episodes are entitled: Episode 1. 'The Curse Of Mr Bean', Episode2. 'Mr Bean Goes To Town...

Advantages: entertains the kids Disadvantages: not brilliant, not that funny, more cute than funny
.... However this defeats the object of the Beanmeister. He was supposed to be old fashioned and quirky, living in the ignorance of modern advances of technology and updated fashion trends.
Saying this, the kids appear to love it. Why I ask it really is not funny, and he talks too much. The old mr bean got in trouble incidently, this cartoon version appears to go looking for it.
The DVD consists of one disc and features eight animated episodes each lasting abou 15 - 20 minutes in length, including: 'No Pets', 'Ray Of Sunshine', 'Birthday Bear', 'The Mole', 'Roadworks', 'The Sofa', 'Treasure' and 'Homeless'. In these episodes we see a cartoon version of the classic Mr Bean go about his daily chores, celebrate his teddy's birthday, get in trouble with the police and even manages to loose possesion of his home.
Overall I'm awarding a 3 star...
