Raging Planet - Savage Sun DVD

Advantages: Great Graphics, A great Story with Great Acting
Disadvantages: No faults whatsoever...Yet!

...I rented Pitch Black the other day and I think it is the best Film that i have seen all year. Vin Diesel plays an escaped convict that is recaptured and sent on a commercial flight to a different planet but along the way the pilot (Radha Mitchell) encounter some problems and land on a remote planet that seems to have no day as it has 3 suns! As the 10 remaining Passengers try to escape from the planet the suns are caught in a year long eclipse and the whole planet become pitch black ( hense the title). Suddenly the Whole planet comes alive and the monsters that appear from the planet start to prey on the remaining passengers. The Storyline is very good as it contrasts the mix of the evil of the Human race i.e. Vin Diesel, and the seen evil that is the planets inhabitants. ...The monsters that come out in the dark are timid compared to these beasties, they are the creatures of the night. This movie comes out fighting with awesome spec effects and scenery that is totally alien and stunning, I was in awe over the scenes when the sun began to set, well go into pitch black behind a neigbouring planet, an awesome sight. It was a movie where the creatures were alien and twice as nasty, it would be interesting to know more about them, and their planet. This is a well worth movie not for the faint hearted though.... ...Think ‘The Cube’ meets ‘Alien’. Survivors of a crashed space ship (no actors whom we recognise) learn that they are not alone on the planet. Soon the planet, normally in perpetual daylight from 3 suns, goes into its once-every-22-years total eclipse and then the party really begins. Nasty creatures pick them off one by one in a low-budget but pretty horrific way. Human ingenuity has to get them off the planet and it’s the psycho-convict who takes control. Very tense and effective, and the survivors are not exactly whom you would expect.... Read review
