Advantages: Original and oh so funny Disadvantages: You will either love it or hate it
...Steve Olderkerk, better known as the writter and director of the nutty professor. Writes, directes and stars in this tale of a legendary warrior called the chosen one. Who wonders the countryside looking for the man who killed his family, many years before, in order to seek revenge.
Sounds pretty much like most of the kung fu films that I have seen over the years. With a small exception. He has taken footage from a 1976, Hong Kong, kung fu film called Hu He Shuang Xing (Tiger and Crane fists) and inserted both himself and new scenes into the film. As well as all new dialogue (out of sinc of course) to create a wonderfully hysterical spin on the martial arts flick.

Advantages: Typical Burton atmosphere and direction Disadvantages: Not startlingly original
...Yet again Tim Burton displays his gothic visual inventiveness in this tale of a headless horseman. Johnny Depp plays police constable Ichabod Crane, who comes from New York to the quiet village of Sleepy Hollow to investigate a spate of deaths involving decapitation. He is not willing to accept that a ghostly apparition is responsible for the deaths at first, but soon changes his mind when he sees the horseman in action. With the ethereal Katrina Van Tassel (Christina Ricci) at his side, Crane decides to take on the headless murderer. Johnny Depp is particularly good as Crane, adding plenty of humour to the character. The sets are good, as is the use of blood....
