Review: Gloomy weather in the English soul never looked more beautiful than in Chris Petit's downbeat arthouse gem (The Guardian, 19/03/2008)
The music alone is the reason for investing in Petit's intelligently shot mood piece (Time Out, 19/03/2008)
...A father and his son can cross through three decades using an old radio and have a conversation. If you can get past your disbelief an follow the film's central conceit, and have an eye for detail, then the films works together great giving a good storyline and good effects. The film starts in 1969, Frank Sullivan lives with his his wife and six-year old son. When he is not workign he likes to surf the air-waves of his radio. However, in October, some freaky solar activity creates unusual effects. It doesn't just light up manhatten but it does something freaky with his radio, now it has a lot stronger frequency than before which can reach 3 decades....

Advantages: Enjoyable for sci fi lovers Disadvantages: more actoin and maybe some special effects
...For sci fi lovers, I would say this is a good film to watch, yet not extreamly good.
"Back to the future meets Sixth sense" as they say. It is a film that shows the relationship between a father and son. And how time and frequency helped them both solve a muder and save a live.
It might make you think that, how might this become true, as you tune your radio tonight, don't be surprised hearing a radio show back in the 80s. But our imagination just wonders off, and thats how those films are made out of.
Frequency has a bits of everything, maybe it would be more exciting if it concentrated more on the science fiction side of the story, but thats just my opinion....

Advantages: Teenage rebellion - loved by all teenagers!!! Disadvantages: May offend younger viewers
...This film was destined to become a cult classic - an unhappy teenager broadcasting an outrageous pirate radio station from his bedroom. Christian Slater plays the unruly teenager - unable to make friends at his new school, but adored by his peers as the mystery man responsible for the pirate radio show. Follow him as he tries to abotain friendship from people who don't want to know him, and the girl who suspects he is responsible for the radio show. The inevitable happens and they fall in love, but will it all end in tears? Will the FBI catch him and shut down the show? You'll have to watch and find out!
This film contains some nudity and offensive material, so is not suitable for younger children, but is definately not a film for adults either. Enjoy it in your youth!!!...
