This is by far THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE available on official DVD! Filmed during the magic tour it is a must for every Queen fan!
The show blasted off with an amazingly energetic performance of One Vision followed by the every ready crowd pleasing Tie Your Mother Down. What followed that was In The Lap Of The Gods which got the 80,000 already hyped up fans into an amazing sing a long frenzy. Then in Lap Of The Gods launched into a medley with Seven Seas Of Rhye and tear it up. The magic and energy continued throughout it's a kind of magic and Freddie's famous DAY O's and everything which followed after that. Just after the mid way point of the concert Brian takes center stage with an ultra extended guitar solo. This DVD mixes Brians amazing sound so perfectly for 5.1 surround that while he was rifting on some parts, it sounded as if he was in the room with me. 10 minutes after it had begun the solo ended by surging into Now I'm Hear, drums go crashing and sweat drips off of Freddie as he and the rest of the band give this song their all.
They then "bring things down" with is this the world we created and a few classics from the 50's. The band really look as if they are enjoying them selves during these song (especially John).
Freddie gets the crowed going wild again as he crowed as he plonks out the first notes of Bohemian Rhapsody on his piano. After Bohemian Rhapsody freddie gets a little crazy with crazy little thing called love and one of the best performances of hammer to fall ever. Before they say goodnight and leave the stage we get to see the crowd of 80,000 or so people, as they clap simultaneously during an excellent rendition of radio gaga.
The show ends as almost every other with the band reappearing from backstage to do a little encore. As all ways it was we will rock you and we are the champions only this time it was nicely broken up by a few verses of friends will be friends.
Brian is in great form and the harmonies through out this concert are spot on, it is incredible to realize this wall of great sound is coming mostly from a live trio.
Disk two is jammed full of extras including interviews, rehearsal footage and THE QUEEN MULTI-CAM where you can pick which member of the group (Brian, Roger, John or Freddie) to watch during four fantastic songs.
Disk two also has bit of Friday nights concert, where it rains and Freddie tells everyone "I can't sing until I gets the snot outer my nose"
My only complaint is with the audio, the bass was given a relatively weak mix in both 5.1 and PCM stereo.
In summary, a must have for anybody who appreciates great music!
