**The Plot**
Jay (played by Fardeen Khan) is an ambitious fashion photographer and is happily married to his wife Geeta (played by Sonali Kulkarni). Jay is mildly flirtatious and I must say he's in the right profession allowing him to be constantly surrounded by a bevy of beautiful models. While Jay is on the lookout for a new face, he runs into Ria (played by Urmila Matondkar), a gorgeous and spoilt rich girl. Jay tries to coax Ria into modelling as he feels that her face has great potential. What he doesn't realise is that behind the beautiful face is a mildly psychotic person.
Eventually, Jay's efforts bear fruit and Ria starts working with him. As they work together, Ria finds herself falling in love with the charming Jai and is completely obsessed with him. Jai is also infatuated with Ria, but at the same time he's absolutely in love with his wife and is loyal to her. Meanwhile, Ria who's preoccupied with Jay's thoughts becomes very possessive about him. Even after learning about Jay's marital status, she refuses to let go of him. Her obsession reaches a point where she even tries to get rid of Jai's wife and on one occasion attempts to commit suicide.
Does the plot of the movie sound familiar? Well, "Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya" is said to be 'inspired' by Michael Douglas-Glenn Close starrer "Fatal Attraction". But "Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya" is worth watching for Urmila's remarkable performance. Urmila's innocent face evokes sympathy for her character. When ideally I should have been feeling sorry for Jai, I found myself sympathising with Urmila's character even though I firmly believed that the girl was downright insane. That's the kind of magic Urmila weaves on her audience.
**The Acting**
The chemistry between Fardeen and Urmila is completely natural. Fardeen looks cute as usual and has performed well in the movie. Urmila looks absolutely stunning in her new hairdo. She has managed to look absolutely gorgeous and sexy, particularly in the first half of the movie. She convincingly depicts the character of a highly temperamental person. Kudos to Urmila for a brilliant depiction of erratic mood swings with utmost perfection. I felt so sorry for her that I seriously felt like asking her "Pyaar Tune Kyon kiya" ;-)
Although Sonali Kulkarni does not have a meaty role in the movie, she has performed to the best of her abilities. None of the other starcast is worth a mention.
**The Music**
Technically, the movie is good, but the music of this movie is simply amazing. Some of the best songs from this movie are "Kambakht Ishq" and "Mujhko khuda ne de diya". The song "Kambakht Ishq" is filmed well and the choreography is fantastic.
**My Verdict**
Even though this movie didn't do too well on the box-office, I feel this is one of those movies which underperformed for no apparent reason. I personally would recommend watching "Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya", if not for anything else, for Urmila's outstanding performance. I
