Push =====
Starts with a young boy, Nick, being given some advice from his father just before his dad is shot down. Look out for a girl who will give him a flower. Nick escapes and so the film begins......
Physic soldiers left over from the Nazi experiments but now they are free they have had children and are hiding within the populace. They are hunted constantly and some even work for the 'Division'. Each country has its own 'division'. Each Country wants total control over these special people.
'Watchers' can see the future, 'Movers' are telekinetics, 'Pushers' put thoughts in your head, 'Sniffs', 'Shifter', 'Bleeders' and 'Shadows' the list and categories are endless as each type of 'Special' is caught and categorised. And used.
But no one survives; no one survives the drugs that 'Division' gives them to boost their powers.
The 'Division' has been winning a lot of battles but now its time for the 'Specials' to win the war or die out completely.
10 years elapse and Nick has grown. He ekes out a paltry living using his talent but then the 'Sniffers' track him down. They are looking not for him but a young woman who has had the Boost and survived!. She escaped as is now on the run.
Well you can see where this film is going.
It has some similarities to "Scanners" but a bit more class. The acting is really very good and the plot moves along at a brisk if not fast pace. The sound track is grungy, fresh and excellent. It compliments a surprisingly good movie
Although set in Hong Kong the locations throughout the film are nothing special, hotel rooms, hospital corridor, alley ways, road side cafes. Easy and cheap to mock up and to film in.
All in all a decent movie that delivers a punchy Sci-fi thriller. True it delivers nothing new to the Genre but it does give a pretty good movie. Recommended to see if it comes on the TV.
