I brought this DVD after buying the first edition ‘Pump it up, The ultimate dance workout’ as I very much enjoyed the first DVD, and thought, well I want a change, a change of music and moves. I would have to say I was thoroughly disappointed when I played the DVD through first time. But after a while, I got used to the techniques, although you can never get used to the annoying clothes the dancers are wearing, and the fact that they never break a sweat while your there mopping it off your forehead!
The new DVD ‘Pump it up, burn it. Lose it.’ Features a workout split into 6 sections, which is set to an excellent soundtrack of 15 club hits. -------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- The sections consist of:
Warm up: I found this section fairly easy. It is good to do just on it’s own if you are a beginner, and I found that without the warm up and cool down sections, well I wouldn’t be able to move in the morning after! The warm up section consists of Marching, breathing exercises, step touch (these warm up your muscles and get you ready for further exercises) these are all done to two songs: Booty Luv- Boogie 2nite and Supafly inc. – moving too fast. All the moves are done with hang movement, I found the co-ordination of my feet and my hands rather difficult, but that is just me. In the warm up section of this new DVD I found that there are limited moves. I felt the warm up section was a lot of arm movement, not as much actual body movement.
Aero burn: In this section you pick up the energy and do exercises such as squats, side steps, Star jumps and skipping. It is a 15 minute work-out section this section is a god section for boosting your energy, as well as using up your energy! I found a good thing about this section, and all the others was the fact that one of the dancers does the moves in a simplified way, so if you have muscle problems or are suffering from problems then you can do your workout without damaging yourself. I found this section had far more movement, although again the moves were limited. Some of the moves were pretty hard to do. All these exercises in this section are done to three songs: Fireflies & Alexandra Prince- I can’t get enough, till west & Dj delicious – same man and Tom novy & Lima – take it. The music is catchy and good to dance to.
Bpm: This section was the part with ‘funky new moves’ where you learn choreography to three tunes. I found this section slightly easier than the aero burn section, but again the co-ordination of my hands and feet was hard to do. It’s hard to keep up with the dancers. I think I enjoyed this section slightly more than the aero burn partly because it was not as tiring, but the fact that it was slower. This section might be another good section to start on if you are a beginner.
Beat box: This section consisted of ‘jabs’ ‘hooks’ and ‘uppercuts’ from the first two sections. It takes a total of 15 mins and is perfect for getting rid of stress I would say! Some of these moves were a bit tricky to get them all right, I struggled to be able to keep up with the dancers, remembering what moves I had to do in what order. The beginning section is done to Fedde le grand – put your hands up for Detroit. Below the belt: This section concentrates on Toning, the stomach, thighs and butt. These moves were fairly easy to do, and I enjoyed this section. This again had the low and high intensity versions of the exercises being done. Some of the exercises are pretty painful to do! But you are motivated to keep going. In this section you are shown how to do the exercises much better. I found the explanation on how to do press-ups much better in this DVD than the previous one. I found this section really did tone your body up, and with the other sections removed excess fat well.
Knockout: Finally the cool down section. This lasts only 8 minutes. This section is where you get to be calm, and relaxed. This final section consists of stretches and concentrates on the breathing. All of these moves were fairly easy to do, and they certainly do work! You feel relaxed and your muscles don’t hurt whereas if you don’t cool down, I find that my muscles do hurt.
A bonus of this DVD is the fact you can chose what exercises you want to do, so if you don’t feel like doing the whole lot, you can just do certain sections.
The DVD comes with an introduction, which tells you all about the DVD, and what sections you must do, like the warm up section. It also includes safety tips, which I found useful. It also shows you how to do the certain moves so you do not damage yourself. It does not although show you how to do the actual moves. So you can still struggle with the difficult moves.
You can also create your own routine! This means you can select which sections you want to do and which you don’t, so you don’t need to stop to change sections. I found this really useful, as stopping meant it was harder to carry on again.
In the extra’s section you get: Behind the scenes. Meet the dancers. Interview with Deanne Berry. Outtakes. Trailers. Mobile downloads.
I thoroughly enjoyed this DVD, eventually, although I would recommend buying it with the first pump it up DVD, just so you get used to the workout. I enjoyed the music and most of the workout, overall it may not be the best of the exercise DVDs by ministry of sound, but it is worth buying.
Buy, work out, get fit, ENJOY!

Advantages: Great presenter, amazing music, gets you really fit Disadvantages: It's a hard workout so you really need to stick at it to see results
...big fan of the entire Pump It Up series of workout DVDs and this one is my absolute favourite. When I first tried it, I thought I might collapse! Well, not really but it was so hard. However, by sticking with it, and following the 'easier' moves which one of the girls does, I improved greatly in a short period of time (doing the workout three times a week for two or three weeks). I felt so proud of myself for sticking with it, and noticed a huge ... ...one of the other Pump It Up DVDs (HiEnergy) which I had previously found difficult, and realised that my fitness had improved so much that I now found this one easy!
There's less dancing in this DVD overall (although there is a specific dance section) which I thought would possibly be a negative (I find the dancing makes it fun and takes away the feeling that you are 'working out') but they have managed to make this workout really fun. It's fast ...

Advantages: very good work out, more interesting than a standard routine Disadvantages: can be quite dis-heartening
I found this DVD to be a great help when I wanted to lose abit of extra weight and tone up. Although I'm quite good at sticking to an exercise routine, this made doing exercise much more fun, and because I love dancing it was perfect for me. I think this is good even for people who want to slowly build up a routine as even the warm up gives you quite a good exercise, but I think it might be a little fast paced when watching it for the first time. ... ...quite sexy which is great as a confidence booster, which most of the time is the reason why people lose weight besides wanting to get abit healthier. The only problem with this DVD is that the people on there don't wear very much and are quite young and wear a lot of make up to make themselves look better, and because they already have their slim toned figures, it can be quite dis-heartening when your at the first stages of trying to lose weight. ...

The fourth instalment in Ministry of Sound's PUMP IT UP series, BURN IT, LOSE IT takes you on an aerobics workout professionally programmed by award-winning fitness instructor, Agata Pienio. Warm up with a 'foundation' session, then choose from 'beatbox' (a high impact combat-aerobics session), 'pump it up' (a dance aerobics session), or 'below the belt' (a bums, tums and thighs session), before cooling down with a 'knockout' session.
