I think if I were to call this a cult classic that would be to do an injustice. If I were to call this an all time classic i'm sure most would agree I'd be much closer to a realistic summing up of this Tarantino masterpiece. Only Quentin can pull together a cast on the scale of Pulp Fiction, Travolta, Willis, Jackson and Thurman. Star studied is not quite the word! One of the greatest scripts of all time without doubt and an intriguing structure. Each scene creates one of those pop culture talking points. From the humour of the "royale with cheese" to the menace of the Ezekiel speech. There are numerous instances of Tarantino brilliance that could be picked out. The film runs an enjoyable course whilst challenging the audience in a non-threatening way. I think Tarantino's mischievious side is displayed in never revealing what is in the briefcase, leaving film goers scratching their heads and coming up with theories for years gone by as to what could be inside. Is the briefcase the lynchpin of the whole film? Or is it something more subtle than that. Tarantino would argue that there are many themes which are on-going and the struggles each character faces. One of Samuel L Jackson's finest moments in his acting career without doubt, Travolta is a million miles away from the slick-backed, leather jacking wheelding role he played in Grease and Uma was always destined to take the lime-light and succeeded when Tarantino cast her the lead in his epic Kill Bill. Even that though cannot hold a torch to the quality of Pulp Fiction.

If this film is yet to be in your collection then make that change today, an essential part of an filmography. Timeless and an inspiration to many films since, however, none have the charisma, wit and excellence displayed here. Furthermore, Tarantino's ear for a great record has propelled some of the older records back to the forefront of our culture and tracks like Al Green's Lets Stay Together and Dusty Springfield's Son of a Preacher man now scream Pulp Fiction to many. Truely iconic and a must have.
