Advantages: Johny Depp's performance Disadvantages: Story could have been more developed
Johny Depp is back and how! Public enemies brings Depp and Christian Bale in a biography of one of the coolest bank robbers of America. Set in the 1930s, this crime/drama is a power packed film, though slightly diluted due to its slightly longer running time(around 140 minutes).
The story is very basic, Depp(as John Dillnger) and his group of men are bank robbers going around robbing banks and running away from the police, who are trying their best to entrap and catch them as soon as possible. There is actually not much time given to show how they plan or execute the robbery but its more of how they are surviving from the police after it.
One of the integral parts of the film lies in the romantic angle between Depp and Marion Cotillard(Billie in the film). It is the romance which keeps Dillinger looking for more in life and the best ...
Advantages: Johnny Depp, special effects, historically accurate. Disadvantages: Bit slow-paced at times.
One thing I can say about Johnny Depp is that he never disappoints. He?s a top-notch headliner for a reason; that reason being that he has real screen presence. Even in something as execrably awful as the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels (the original wasn?t actually too bad), he brings enough to the movies to stop them from being total turkeys.
In Public Enemies he takes on the role of John Dillinger, one of America?e most notorious gangsters from the 30?s depression era. From what I know of the real story, the movie does seem to give a pretty accurate picture of Dillinger?s history and exploits. He is presented as a kind of Robin Hood figure, who is, to a certain extent, idolised by the public. Even though he was responsible for the murder of several policeman, the public continued to view him in the same romantic light. It was ...
Advantages: Gives an insider view of the popular TV show. Disadvantages: Bit expensive for what it is. Not a lot more than you would get in a standard episode.
's magnetism, and ability to draw in nearly 2 million viewers every morning.
'Jeremy Kyle - Access All Areas' delves further than the front of the show. It gives the viewer the chance to see for themselves what happens behind the scenes in a sort of 'filmesque' sort of way. It begins from the moment the guests make the very first call to the show, and follows the path from here to the resolution. It shows how the researchers and producers develop the story and it features Graham Stanier (the show's psychotherapist), who then works out how they set about resolving the problems. You get to see how the audience are catered for, and how everything is organised, and even a brief clip of Kyle warming-up the audience (as he does the warm-up routine himself before the shows).
The DVD goes beyond the studio, and even follows the guests at their own ...
Brewster is an idyllic little town with clean streets, green parks, a booming economy, and a friendly, content populace. Or so it seems...until one day, a mysterious stranger arrives. A seemingly congenial, clean-cut, and upstanding citizen himself, Whiley Pritcher (Ron Marquette) buys airtime at the local public access station, and puts on a show called "Our Town," during the Sunday family hour. Whiley poses one question to his call-in audience, "What's wrong with Brewster
