How can you take one of the most recognised filsm in cinema history and add a sequel? Well they did and now we have Psycho 2 to ridicule and rubbish...or do we?
Given the original film and the effect that it had on the industry (and indeed popular culture), this could never hope to reach the same heights (and don't be fooled - it doesn't). It does however set it's sights lower and manages to be a good little thriller/horror movie filled with nice twists and the creators have tried to inject some suspense into the proceedings.
Perkins is the man that it all revolves around and naturally he does outshine everyone else but I found the supporting cast to be a little bit lacking. Tilly is weak and girly, and I don't think Miles had appeared in anything since the original (well it looks like she's making up for lost time). The rest of the cast are sadly unmemorable which leaves it all on the square shoulders of Tony P and he excels - easily recreating the role he'll be remembered for.
A classic? No. A great film? No. An entertaining film? Yes
