Advantages: Great cast, superb acting, well developed story and relationships Disadvantages: Went on for a while!
...I am not normally someone who sits down for nearly 2 hours on a Sunday evening to watch a television drama. However, the constant adverts for Joe's Palace on the BBC channels managed to capture my interest enough for me to put it in my Sky planner, so when the reminder came up, I decided I'd watch the first half hour and see how it went. I actually ended up watching the whole thing, which for someone who dislikes these long dramas is no mean feat, and I must credit that to the wonderful programme I sat and watched.
Joe's Palace has been widely advertisted across the television I think because it has been written and directed by the renowned television drama writer Stephen Poliakoff. Now I will be honest and say that I have not seen anything else Poliakoff has written, so I didn't know what to expect from one of his shows...

Advantages: Wide view of Picture as intended for cinemas Disadvantages: Unsuitable view for Portable DVD's
...The third and final part (as of yet) of the Die Hard series and Bruce Willis is back this time alongside Samuel L Jackson.
This Widescreen version is suitable for anyone who's television set as the ability to show widescreen pictures. With this you can see more of the film has it was intended to be seen at the cinema. Sometimes films are cut to fit onto standard screen sizes. The film is probably the best of the three films and Jackson gives Willis a run for his money in the action scenes.
The Villian played by Jeremy Irons although not as good has Alan Rickman in the first Die Hard film does an excellent potrayal of a German villian. If you are a fan of the series but have only watched them on television (with adverts betwween) then go and purchase this film and see how it was intended to be seen....

Advantages: Gives an insight into situations like this Disadvantages: None really
...Brokedown palace is nothing unique really in terms of the storyline and the setting but, I do believe it is still a very good film and one that will make you realise how you should always be very careful when travelling in a foreign country.
The film was written by David Arata and Adam Fields and Jonathan Kaplan. The film is rated '12' and was released back in 1999.
The story:
Two American girls, Alice and Darlene want to go away after graduation as a last trip together before Darlene goes off to college. They want it to be a memorable trip and so decide they want to go off to Thailand. Alice is a bit of a rebel with only her father to look after her and has no problem with being able to go. Darlene on the other hand has a strict set of parents who are happy to let her go to Hawaii. So she doesn't tell them she is going to...
