Advantages: None. Disadvantages: Everything about the film
Despite my membership with Lovefilm, I still occasionally pick up the odd cheap DVD to have in reserve for when my rented films are in transit. As I was feeling a little delicate over the weekend following a few too many glasses of wine on Friday night, I took a dive into my reserve collection of films and plumped for The Bogus Witch Project, a series of spoofs of the infamous Blair Witch Project. Now if you've ever seen The Blair Witch Project, you'd think there was sufficient material to send up in a spoof horror. Unfortunately, the makers of The Bogus Witch Project seemed to struggle and instead have produced the most diabolical attempt at comedy horror that I have ever witnessed in my life.
Obviously having seen the original Blair Witch Project will give you a distinct advantage in watching The Bogus Witch Project but, even so, I ...
I watched "The Blair Witch Project" on DVD with my surround sound on and i thought it was quite realistic and believable. There has been a lot of hype about the film because it is an original idea but i did not find it as scary as everyone said it would be. It depends what sort of horror films you are into. If you are scared by the psychological kinds of movies then this is the movie for you but if you are more into the gory kind, you will be disappointed. It leaves a lot to the imagination and you don't actually see anything scary. At the end of the film, they find one of their freinds who has been missing standing in the corner of a room in an abandoned house. Then the camera falls to the floor and goes blank. It is quite spooky because they were all screaming and when they were trying to turn him around, he would not move ...
Advantages: True story, impressive cast Disadvantages: Not to everyone?s taste, sad
Set in small town Laramie, Wyoming, this movie is based on over 400 hours of interviews, undertaken by eight members of the New York?s Tectonic Theatre Project. They spent over 2 years recording these interviews with the hope of putting on a play composed from the original words of the towns people, with actors playing the roles of real people.
In October 1998 21 year old Matthew Shepard was taken from a bar by two young men, put in a truck and driven out to a field where he was tied to a post, robbed and repeatedly tortured. He lay there for 18 hours before being discovered by a cyclist and taken to hospital. He was in a coma for five days before he died.
Matt was gay, and this was the ultimate hate crime.
Interviews with the locals piece together what happened that night. Police, doctors, priests, teachers, friends ...

DVD Description
Jackie Chan stars as Dragon Ma, an honest marine cadet in late-19th-century colonial Hong Kong, who must do battle with the smugglers and pirates terrorising the South China Sea in order to preserve his company's honor. Revered by Chan devotees as one of his finest films, PROJECT A seamlessly combines exhilarating action sequences with classic slapstick comedy. Chan's energy, timing, and grace are truly infectious, as demonstrated by the hilarious opening bicycle chase and his now-legendary homage to Harold Lloyd's SAFETY LAST, in which he plummets from the face of a clock tower with only a series of window awnings to break his fall. Also starring Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, this is a must-see for fans of the genre.
