..."Saving Private Ryan" made in 1998 is probably one of the best war movies I have ever seen.
It has an all star cast (Tom Hanks, Tom SizeMore, Edward Burns, Dennis Farina). It's directed by one of the great directors of our time, Steven Spielberg, and it's one of the biggest budget war movies of all time.
It's gripping, powerful, graphically violent, intense
and above all tremendous. However, what I loved most about the movie is the accurate depiction of what our War Veterans had to go through in World War II in order to protect our country.
The intro of the movie starts out with an noble old man visiting the graves of his Army buddies and heroes. When the man reaches the grave of one his Army heroes, the man literally breaks up in tears, because he is remembering the sacrifices that this man did for him in the war...

...The top-grossing motion picture of 1998, Saving Private Ryan has had profound impact on the film industry and is rightly considered as one of the greatest film achievements in history. Following the Allied invasion of Normandy, two brothers lay dead in the wake of the onslaught...

Advantages: It's one of those films which captures imagination Disadvantages: It's not for people who don't like blood.
...I have always been interested in World war II but I never thought it was possable to create a film that made you think you were there and feel scared with the characters as you hear a tank coming towards you. Steven Spielburg managed to create this film, the most stunning and realistic war film you would ever see.
Saving Private Ryan is a film with lots of blood and guts, so not for the faint hearted although it really captures your mind and shows you what wars really like, that's what the film taught me. Before I saw Saving Private Ryan I thought war just involved clean kills and the soldiers wern't scared at all. While watching the film the first half an hour told me otherwise.
I really can't see a fault with this film. It is historically correct in every way. The film is for people who don't mind blood and you also have...
