Postman Pat is a timeless classic that appeals to generation after Generation -I remember as a young child being ascinated by the adventures of Postman Pat and his black and white cat. Now, more than 20 years on my son shares my love of the goings on in Greendale. The ever popular animated series was written by John Cunliffe, and with the artistic skills of animator Ivor Wood the Postman Pat story was first brought to life on tv in 1981. Each episode is about 15 minutes long and follows the story of how Postman Pat and his cat Jess deliver post around the village of Greendale. But inevitably Postman Pat is always drawn into the mishaps and dilemmas of the residents of Greendale, which detract him from the work he is meant to do.
The Characters in Postman Pat are: Pat Clifton - Village Postman (Postman Pat) (1981-) Jess the cat - Pat's pet (1981-) Mrs Goggins - Postal Mistress, first name unknown (1981-) Bonnie the dog - A fluffy white dog adopted by Mrs Goggins (2005-) Sarah

As can be seen Postman Pats son was not introduced into the cartoon until ten years after it was first aired. Modern day cartoon episodes strongly feature Postman Pat as a family man. --------------------------------------------------------------------- --- Postman Pat's Bumper Collection is a great DVD to buy for your children to keep them entertained. Each of the episodes are fun and packed with lots of adventure and situations for children to enjoy. All of the popular characters that children watch on the TV series are present and I have enjoyed many hours of peace and quiet whilst my son watches this. With nearly two hours of watching packed into this bumper collection it is certainly value for money and a must have for any parent who has a Postman Pat loving child like I do. As it was released more than 2 years ago now, the price of it is very reasonable and I found that Amazon provides a great range to choose from, be it new or used, In all truthfulness I spend many an hour watching this with my son, as it brings back memories of when I was a child, and has that same simple pleasure that I loved so much as a young child. ten out of ten for this DVD
