Way back in the early 1980`s was a childrens television programme about a postman and his cat, my youngest brother would sit for hours watching every episode that my dad had recorded.
In 2008 Postman Pat got modernised and gets promoted to the Special Delivery Service in Pencaster.
Crazy Robots
At the Pencaster mail centre the sorting machine is broken, parcels are flying all across the room and are getting in a mess. Postman Pat recieves a phone call from Ben and is asked to pick up a special delivery parcel from Ted which turn out to be 2 robots. Ted tells Pat that there is an off switch on the robots should there be a problem.
While Pat and Jess are in the van the robots overhear Pat talking to Jess about a carwash and they manage to get out of the van and soon get into trouble by going through the carwash which leads them to get into a whole heap of mischief through the village.
Will Pat and the others be able to find them and save the day?
A Teepee
It is the annual treasure hunt and there is a special mystery prize, Pat gets a phone call from the mail centre asking him to pick up a special delivery parcel which turns out to be a prize for the treasure hunt. All Pat has to do is deliver it before the children get to the end, but distaster strikes when Ben throws the keys to the big van to Pat and Pat loses the instructions on the conveyer belt.
Ben calls Lauren to find out where they are but there is no phone signal so Pat lands up doing the treasure hunt himeself.
Will he get to the secret location before the children?
Fruit Bats
It is animal day Pat has to pick up some fruit bats from the mail centre, when he arrives Ben tells Pat to shhhh as the bats sleep all day and like quiet. The bats have to be delivered to Amy's surgery at 1pm the latest but of course the bats land up escaping and so the fun begins in catching them!
A wind Machine
It is a windy day Pat has an unusual parcel to deliver, a wind generator which Ted has designed and had made. Pat wants to take the helicopter but it is much too windy and so he has to take the van. The children are waiting with Ted and their teacher for the wind generator to arrive at the Watermill.
The wind gets worse and a tree branch breaks and lands up jammed in the waterwheel, Teds electric goes out because it is generated by the waterwheel. Pat meanwhile is trying his hardest to get to Ted but due to the wind he faces a lot of obstacles.
Can Pat get to Teds?
Charlie's Telescope
The children are looking forward to seeing a comet, Pat has to collect an urgent delivery from the mail centre a telescope for Charlie. Pat only has 30 minutes to get the telescope back to Greendale so he decides to take the bike which is low on petrol and he tells Jess that they will have to stop for petrol on the way. Ben gives pat a sat nav, Pat is not impressed but takes it with him, Pat arrives in Greendale too late and so decides to go and find the children so he can give Charlie the telescope.
Will he get to them in time before the comet arrives?
A Runaway Cow
This is a fun episode about Daisy the Cow who Pat has to deliver to farmer Alf, Daisy escapes from the mailing centre and so Pat goes after her while Ben phones Amy to see if he can borrow a trailer. Daisy causes mayhem in the village as she is hungry and although Pat catches her Daisy manages to escape.
Daisy then gets herself into trouble with Pat having to use his helicopter, will he be able to rescue her?
Meet some of the Cast

What do I think?
Wow well Postman Pat is certainly different to 27 years ago when he just had his little van to deliver letters. Faithful Jess is still with Pat only these days Pat now has a big van, a bike with side car and a helicopter!
He also delivers all sorts of special delivery parcels like the robots and tepees and chaos seems to reign through each episode which makes it full of fun. No matter what the problem Pat always finds a way to deliver his special delivery parcels. Whenever my son watches this he does not move from his little chair, he laughs so much as there is a lot of humour in each episode.
Each episode lasts around 15 minutes which is ideal for my son who likes his tv programmes to last a little bit longer these days, it also means I can get on and do other stuff in the kitchen.
At the beginning of each episode you get a modern day version of the old tune which is much more upbeat, the titles show Pat with his various vehicles. At the end of each espisode you get the new SDS tune which is quite cool though I find it very annoying on my sons toys!
Postman Pat has certainly moved with the times, I could not believe when I watched the robot episode that he now has a mobile phone and I love his Sat Nav!
