Recommendable: Yes

Advantages A remake of the 1972 classic. Wasnt a huge hit with the box office but was a classic for me.

The original Poseidon was released in 1972 and was a huge hit. The 2006 remake was as you could probaly guess filled with better special effects. Hundreds of passengers are on a huge cruise liner for New Year when a huge wave bigger than the boat smashes into the ships side and tips it up-side down. Hundreds of passengers who were inside when the wave struck survive, but are stuck under the water upside down. A small group of passengers are led by a man who used to be the Mayor of new York and another man who once starred in Jaws. On the way to escape, they are faced with lots o9f tricky situations, eg. climbing up a tiny vent that is quickly filling up with water. Better than the 1972 original to me. But the box office didnt agree !

    I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good?
