After a long, long wait, MGM has finally seen fit to release the first season of this terrific series on dvd.
The Legacy is a collective of small groups of gifted people (typically psychics, and the series is based around the San Fransico branch - led by Derek Rayne. An anthropologist, he is a bit like Grisham off CSI. Very clever, but keeps his cards close to his chest.
The Legacy has at its disposal a stunning grand old house (on an island, of course), helicopter, un-exhaustive research facilities, ancient artifacts galore, etc. presumably most of which comes from the 'Luna Foundation' which is like a front organisation, but people that donate monies and goods to said company seem to do so with the secret handshakes that say 'I know what you're really up to' - all of which comes in terribly useful as the team encounter demons and the like, as they battle for the greater good.
Like detectives, they will pick up on a story and investigate - becoming intwined in the story themselves, often putting themselves directly in danger.
The special effects are 'just so' - believable, to make you look twice... was that a shadow or a ghost? Not at all over the top like you might imagine. If you get a chance, I hope you give this show a fair go. I love it!
Sad to say there are no extras on the dvd whatsoever. The menu between episodes is a bit difficult to master.
