Plot summary: "Kevin Chan (aka Jackie) is a Hong-Kong cop, who scores his first big hit by virtually single-handedly capturing and arresting a big drug- lord. Of course, the drug-lord isn't too happy about this, and frames Kevin with the murder of another cop (who happened to be on the take). Kevin has to clear his name, whilst keeping himself from getting killed or arrested, and keeping his girlfriend from leaving him."
As you can see Jackie Chan turned into another American action hero in this movie. It is sad to see him move away from his legendary movies such as : drunken master, snake in the eagles shadow and young master.
However the stunts are innovative and entertaining. Jackie Chan's use of martial arts can never be undermined.
However if you are also a fan of his classic martial arts movies....you may be slightly disappointed.
Many people have overrated this movie purely for the love of Jackie Chan. I love Jackie Chan but not this movie. The whole police story movie scene is definitely not one for me....and I am almost certain many others would agree.
Advantages: Jackie at his best Disadvantages: None.

· hero riding motorbike with bad guy sitting backwards over front wheel then driven through a series of glass panels - [Rapid Fire (1992)].
DVD
The DVD ... ...I hope their forthcoming "New Police Story" disc will match too but, sadly, nobody distributes "Police Story III: Supercop" on DVD in the UK and "Police Story IV: First Strike" is not marketed as such in the UK (it is called "Jackie Chan's First Strike" and was distributed in edited form by New Line and Entertainment in Video). ...

...american film makers. Police story was jackie chans message to the american film makers, this was how a action film was supposed to be like. This film is a tribute to jackies ability as a martial artist, stuntman, and as a person too. After been rejected and basically humilated by the film makers of america he didn't go home with his tail between his legs... NO he made one of the great movies of all time. ...
