Plot: There have been many British period pieces on television, but POLDARK may be the most beloved of all. This costume drama, set in the 18th Century, was based on the Poldark novels by Winston Graham and illustrated the life and loves of Captain Ross Poldark, an aristocrat returning back to his home in Cornwall after fighting in America's War for Independence. The largely socio-economic message of POLDARK speaks about unjust contrasts between the poor and the wealthy, and Poldark is often seen at odds with members of his own class. This outstanding series was lauded for having remarkable outdoor sequences and superior acting. Above all, POLDARK is a lively, engaging historical drama.

Advantages: Over 4 1/2 Hours Of Superb Entertainment Disadvantages: Disappointing Lack Of Extra's
...The final 3 parts of the mini series in a 2Disc Dvd represent excellent value of money. The dvds have a lack of features nil really except from the languages and subtitles. But really who can complain as most will be grateful that this is now availible on dvd.
The picture and sound are what you would expect from a dvd although rather dissapointed there was no 5.1 sound only 2.0 surround but nonetheless still provided me with the best viewing experience ive had of this series having previously owned it on vhs.
I would highly recommend this dvd to both fans and newcomers of this cult series. The highly successful 80's series still hold its own to this day with good storylines and memorible action sequences....

Advantages: Surreal, great costumes and a real laugh throughout Disadvantages: There are none IMO
...Well were do i start. After watching Series 1 on BBC 3 i couldn't wait to see Series2. I have now got the 2 sereis plus the live DVD which is quality. Vince Noir and Howard Moon are the two main characters in it and in Series2 get into some real adventures. They are just so comical together. The Best Boosh episode is 'Nanageddon'. Trying to impress two goff (sp) and ending up fighting off an old grannie( who is very powerful) only Vince and Howard could do that. I also like the Nightmare of Milky Joe' which for some reason, doesn't quite reach the same heights of hilarity as the preceeding five but still this doesn't let the DVDseries down. In series two Vince who's got wierd dress sense but still he is comedy to watch takes two stack fulls of clothes on a trip where they meet Kodiak Jack, they also end up on an island and end up...

Advantages: Brilliant animation, lots of interesting extras Disadvantages: Only 6 episodes
...The animations on this disk are brilliant, as ever. I was initially slightly disappointed by the fact that there are only 6 short episodes on the disk, but the extras are really fascinating! This left me undecided - would it be better to have the whole of series2 on one disk, without the extras, or is it worth splitting like this?
On the whole, I think I learnt so much from the extras that I would prefer to have only the 6 short episodes and learn from the narrative. For example, the first time I saw a 'rehearsal' of a scene, I wondered why the lip sync was suddenly so poor. It took me a while to realise that these were actors, miming along to the 'real' audio tape. The actions of these actors are the body movements which are subsequently animated - a fascinating process. It's touching how proud all the staff are of working...
