Most people who were drawn in were already Buffy the vampire fans and knew that Joss Whedon had moved over to Point Pleasant after Buff finished. The main argument for the show being cancelled was that the programme was nothing like Buffy and the people who watched it were disappointed and soon turned off. However, I was and still am a big fan of Buffy and I loved Point Pleasant meaning I was forced to wait for it to come on DVD to see the final 5. Very frustrating to say the least. It was defiantly worth the wait though and I enjoyed every moment.
- -Story Line- - The story starts off with a quick view of all the characters you are going to get to know minis the main star of course. She is going to make a rather dramatic entrance in a minute. You get to see Jesse the lifeguard…Yum is all I need to say for all the people appreciating the male physic. Then there is Paula, Jesse's girlfriend. Who by the way you will hate within a second of seeing her. Trust me…you just know you don't want to like her. And a few more who you will get you know through out the short lived series. They are all having the time of their lives on a sunny beach until all of a sudden it gets dark and gloomy. A serious storm is heading towards Point Pleasant and its doing so quickly. Along with the power cut, everyone but Jesse takes shelter as her realises someone is in the water. Christina.
Jesse takes her to the local doctor's family house that is known as the Kramers. They soon take Christina in and she becomes friends with the teenage girl called Judy. It turns out that Christina is searching for her mother, as she was brought up by her father and knows nothing about her. This is exactly where she needs to starts and the Kramers take her in while she tries to figure this all out.
Soon after Christina's arrival the town starts to change. The people in the town become more secretive and sneaky. More fights happen between what were only just best friends. More people are going to the church to confess their sins. And Christina soon finds that she can control the emotions of those around her. Yet she can't control her own, and if you get her angry you will soon find yourself in serious danger.
Christina soon realises she is no ordinary child and her parents may not be what they seem. A man known as Lucas Boyd starts to follow her and encourages her to become angry and use her new found powers to control others. After all she is the daughter of Satan.
However with the monther being of human blood she also has a good side ad well as her fathers evil. There are prophesies indicating she is capable to "bring the world to its knees" if she choses to take the side of evil. She could rule the world if she so pleases. But that would make the story to easy. This is about her battle between her mothers side of good and her fathers of evil. What she feels is right and what is instinct, in her blood.
There are two men in her life, one fighting for each side of her. Lucas Boyd is working for her father and wants her to embrace whats "in her blood". Wants he rto forful her
destiny and take over the world. However Jesse Parker soon becomes involved with her and seems to be the only perosn who is able to drag her out of the darkness that is slowly consuming her.
The 13 episodes watch her slow realisation of what is is capable of with her battle to find out what she really wants to be. Whilst you watch her being influenced by several different interations and the direct affect it has on the town of Point Pleasant and the locals. A stuggle of good and evil with the added twist of it being in one breathe takingly beautiful person. Full of drama, endless twists and will have you gripping till the very end.

If you originally watched the series on television then you will notice a change in the soundtrack. As the series got axed alot of performers dropped out meaning the music had to change too.
- -My opinion- - If you liked Buffy and/or Angel (but to be honest you should LOVE both) then I would strongly recommend this series. It's a shame it is over as I really enjoyed it and I'm obviously not the only one as since it has come on onto DVD there has been an online petition for series two to be created. The story is a mixture between Dark Angel and Dawson's Creek, It has a dark gothic feel whilst also being a bit more teenage gossipy. Its one of those programmes that you intend to only watch one and end up finishing it overnight. You can get this series for less than £16 online too so it's not exactly breaking the bank either. Then once you're done you can join the army of people online screaming for more…
