Advantages: Great scenes that you can't imagine exists

This is the best dvd set I've ever bought and I got the blu ray edition. Each dvd is on a topic about some landscape/water part of the earth and they use the best examples to show (ex: biggest cave, largest reef, etc.) You feel like each topic can actually be a 2 hour movie by itself, but they do a great job of picking the best images into each dvd. This BBC series has set an example for other nature documentaries to follow. Whith its unprecedented amount of funding and use of new technology, this series really captures the wonders of our great planet, whilst highlighting the need to preserve it for future generations. The dvd consists of 11 roughly hour long episodes, each covering a different topic, such as deserts, caves and fresh water. There are some great sequences, my favourites being ...
...and the struggle of a polar bear desperatly trying to find food as it starves to death. The last 10 minutes of each episode shows how the footage was filmed, giving a rare insight into the life of a nature camaraman.
