As a rule I don't usually watch DVDs as I fall asleep half way through them and I don't review on them generally as DVDs are the worst things to do a review on in my opinion. As they need so much information for people to get an accurate and informative opinion on them as that usually tells the difference between an o.k. DVD and a brilliant one. ~~~~a little bit about the film~~~~~~~ With an amazing cast and presented by Walt Disney and jerry Bruckhelmer films there is no doubt at all that it wouldn't be a hit with children and adults alike. Staying in the Walt Disney tradition and belief that every one has a child inside, that's why Walt Disney productions are as good today as they were when snow white came out for the first time in the cinemas on general release way back in February 4 1938. The storyline of pirates of the Caribbean the curse of the black pearl.
It starts with the governors daughter Elizabeth swann on a trip with her father and his crew, finding a small boy on a peice of wood as they pulled him ashore ,it was apparent he was on conscious with him being the same age as Elizabeth she decided she would look after him until he came round as she was looking after him she noticed he had a gold pirate medallion around his neck which she removed while he was still asleep,as she felt with her fathers hatred of pirates that he would be treated badly. Years later in the next part of the film it shows miss Elizabeth swann as a beautiful young lady who her father is trying to marry to norrinton, one of her dads crew and as most parents want there daughters to marry rich successful men,she had no say in the matter, that is untill captain jack sparrow comes along. As it happens captain Barbosa stole the ship the black pearl from jack sparrow and now jack is willing to do anything within his power to get back the black pearl, but thing don't go according to plan ,as he ends up saving Elizabeth's life when she faints as a result of wearing a corset .And falls over the wall into the sea. After jack saves her life he ends up threatening her life in front of her father in order to escape. which he does. He hides in a blacksmiths which is owned by will turner more or less, as his real boss has had a few to many to drink. When will returns from presenting Elizabeth's father a fine sword. an impressive sword fight incurred jack was captured and will then announced his undying love for Elizabeth to jack .Jack revealed he knew wills dad and sailed with him .Will now in this knowledge knew his dad was a pirate and in pirate law if your parents are pirates that makes you one as well . He couldn't be a pirate as he did'nt wear a pirates medallion. A long time ago a curse was put on the black pearl which made it a ghost ship, and they needed the medallion to break the curse when they found out that will was the son of bootstrap bill they assumed he had the medallion. That's the beginning of the storyline I will let you watch it now for yourself .As there Is an unexpected twist at the end.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~my best bitsand what i liked~~~~~ Got to be the jokes that's cracked all the way through. The arrigance of jack sparrow and the special effects.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~extra features on the DVD~~~~~~~ The good thing about it is you get 2 DVDs one for the story and the 2nd for all the extras for e.g. Epic at sea Diaries Fly on the set Blooper reel pirates in the park below deck 19 deleted scenes Moonlight serenade Image gallery DVD rom ~~~~~~~~~~~~~summery~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The DVD is a little bit long at running time of 137mins ,infrequent languageand some moderate violence and moderate horror .suitable for persons 12 and over and subtitles in English for the hard of hearing a really good DVD and I would certainly recommend it to be watched. ~~~~~~~~~~~~where to buy~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ play.com and all other good dvd retailers price £9.99
