Pirates of The Caribean: Curse of the Black Pearl is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer of Pearl Harbour fame, and directed by Gore Verbinski, creator of well-known thriller The Ring. With these very renowned films under the mens belts, you know that it is going to be a good film. It is a certificate twelve and has been given the following descriptions in the age rating guidelines:
Language: Infrequent, mild Sex/Nudity: None Violence: Some moderate Other: Some moderate horror.
Now weve got the introduction done, lets get onto the real subject and cut to the chase. The film features 2 particularly well-known actors, and another 2 for you film fanatics out there, you know who you are!

If you do not want to know even the basic plot of the film, and want to keep yourself in suspense, then skip the next paragraph or two until the next clearly marked section. But for those of you who cant resist temptation, i dont blame you, and read on:
The cheeky and roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrows easy, idyllic pirate life capsizes after his life long nemesis, the wily Captain Barbossa, steals his comandeered ship, the Black Pearl, and later attacks the town of Port Royal, but after a brave defence by one of the military commanders and his men, they succeed in kidnapping the governors beautiful daughter and potential military commanders fianse Elizabeth. In a gallant attempt to rescue her and recapture the Black Pearl, Elizabeths childhood friend Will Turner joins forces with the sly Captain Jack. What Will doesnt know is that a cursed treasure has doomed Barbossa and his crew to live forever as the undead, and Jack knows just how to lift the curse, but whos side is he on? Youll have to watch the film to find that out wont you!
The DVD is bountiful in its Special Features section of the DVD, and includes the following:

I bought this DVD for £15 from my local supermarket, but can probably be bought cheaper from DVD online shops such as play.com. It is definiteley a very good value DVD for a very good film.
The performances are very convincing, particulary Captain Barbossa played by Geofrey Rush, who portrays his resentment for Jacks knowledge very well, and also Johnny Depp (Jack) always keeps his cool and really adds that hint of humour to the film.
