I think Johnny Depp is a fantastic actor and in this film he doesn't let us down at all. He plays a slightly off the wall pirate that gets caught up with Orlando Bloom, playing Orlando [why am I famous] Bloom in the search for a damsel in distress. The damsel here is the ever fantastic Kiera Knightley [you know the clone of Natalie Portman with the plum voice]. Swashbuckling thrilling wave crashing action follows with gratings of killer comedy supplied by Mr. Depp. Orlando seems to occasionally slip into the background, outclassed and upstaged by bit's of wood or background trees. Go and see it! you will be creeped out by the sinister Geoffrey Rush skeleton Pirate even if you don't find the film as fun as this reviewer did!

Sorry but this is not very helpful with the DVD itself.

I have to agree that Orlando Bloom is completely overshadowed by a fantastic performance by Johnny Depp but perhaps the Will Turner character isn't quite as good as that of Captain Sparrow.
