Advantages: An adventurous and comical movie! Disadvantages: Are there any?
...'s and then seeks refuge with traveling fanatic of a creative London inventor and explorer, Phileas Fogg (Coogan), who has made a bet with members of the gentlemens' club which he attends, that he can make it around the world in only 80 days, which they think is rather foolish and ridiculous. Along the way, Passepartout uses amazing martial arts abilities to defend Fogg from the dangers they face.. One major threat to their adventure is a detective that's following them. Just as Fogg and Passeportout left London, a major bank was robbed, with Fogg suspected of using the trip to be an excuse of their escape.. Their journey from London around the world includes many adventures in Paris, Turkey, India, China and USA....

...'s a lady along for the ride, Monique (Cécile De France), the headstrong French artist and obvious love interest.
Overall, this new adaptation feels pretty clunky. After a very slow start, the film picks up a bit but even when it finds a sufficient pace, the film goes nowhere as its trio of protagonists go everywhere. At no point does there feel like there's a greater meaning to the episodic journey. Adventure is present, but not particularly engaging, and any rush is negated by simply recalling the lack of menace posed by Lord Kelvin and the other poorly-defined stuffy British villains set on making Fogg's trek more challenging.
Passepartout uses the power of his tophat to defeat an Asian bad guy. Phileas meets Monique, the obligatory French artist love interest.

Advantages: fantastic scenery and music. The story is a classic Disadvantages: rather too long to sit without a visit to the bathroom - but the film is too good to miss any of it
...The Two Towers is the second film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The story follows on from shortly after the first films ending. We follow the adventures of Frodo and Samwise Gamgee as they meet up with Gollum on their way to the Land lf Mordor.
The battle scenes are magnificent in their concept and the grandeur of the New Zealand scenery adds to the magic of Middle Earth. Even if you are not interested in the story, it is worth buying a ticket to hear the music and see the mountains.
My favourite part of the film is where the treeherders - the Ents- take issue with Saruman because of the damage he has done to the trees. The special effects fo the flood are amongst the best I have ever seen....
